Sources have informed @winsidr that the Indiana Fever are expected to waive Sims, who will receive her full 2021 salary of $119k and become a free agent.

The one projection I read was that the Lynx would sign Powers to a guaranteed deal and Sims might resign with the Lynx under a non guaranteed deal.

hasn't retired, but out this long, probably should.

And if she doesn't want to play in MN, should just say so, and can move on.

I think Maya has moved on from basketball as a whole. I don't think it has anything to do with the Lynx. She was a FA and signed an extension with the Lynx when she announced she was stepping away from hoops. The Lynx knew what she was going to do when they signed her.

I figure if anyone deserves the benefit of the doubt, its Maya. Basketball has been her life for so long, she probably doesn't even know if the itch to play will come back or not.

She's not financially impacting the Lynx, and I'm sure Reeve has a contingency plan if she does decide to return to basketball.

Build around Collier (for now). She's the real deal.

And we made the Final Four last year with Fowles only playing in 6 of 22 games, and a total of 18 minutes in 1 Playoff game.

Onyenwere will have to improve her guard skills in the WNBA, but she is well aware of that and has been working on it. That includes her 3-point shot. Onyenwere, a tweener by size at 6 feet tall who averaged 19.1 points and 7.2 rebounds as a senior, doesn't necessarily fit perfectly into any WNBA position coming out of college. But she has a great motor and could step in to provide the Lynx a needed boost of physicality as she adjusts to the pro game.

If both Walker and Chelsea Dungee are still available here, the Lynx might go with Walker's size (6-3) and terrific shooting ability from 3-point range. She averaged 19.1 PPG and 9.4 RPG this season, and she was 78-of-196 from behind the arc (39.8%). The Lynx have a solid contingent of post players, and Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said they are really looking to the future with this pick. Walker might be the type of player Reeve sees developing well in her system.

She'd be a perfect understudy to Big Syl, and a great future "Big 3" compliment to Collier and Dangerfield.

Syl is still all-world, but she's 35, missed almost all of last year with injuries and is a FA after the season.

Swish Appeal (Projects her 6th to NY):
The long-armed Mack (6-foot-11 wingspan) transferred to Oklahoma State after dominating the JuCo circuit for Angelina College. As a Cowgirl, she continued to post enormous lines, averaging 19.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and four blocks per game in her senior season. Mack’s frame and disruptiveness on defense should allow her to play in multiple defensive schemes as a pro. The Liberty ranked 11th in the WNBA in forcing turnovers last season, and while they’ve already added former Defensive Player of the Year Natasha Howard, drafting Mack would give New York even more defensive playmaking in its frontcourt and ensure the team can play aggressively on defense for a full 40 minutes.

ESPN (Projects her 12th to Vegas):
It's not fair to compare any rookie to Natasha Howard, a key part of Seattle's past two championships who is now with New York. But perhaps Mack has some Howard-like qualities. Mack is a little taller at 6-foot-4, and with her long wingspan, she was the Division I leader in blocked shots (112, 4.0 per game) this season. She averaged 19.8 points and 12.4 rebounds as a senior, and her defensive prowess could make her a good fit with Las Vegas.

Standing 6’2” with the mobility typical of players several inches shorter, Davis possesses a unique physical skill set that allows her to defend just about anywhere on the court. This will surely appeal to WNBA coaches and GMs as the league leans further and further into “small ball” lineups. Davis has the frame and the athleticism to hang with both perimeter and frontcourt players, while her fluidity of movement makes her a potential irritant in passing lanes.

That’s not to say, of course, that Davis is a one-dimensional player. She’s averaged double-figure scoring in each of her four NCAA seasons — topping out at 18 points per game as a junior. She has ranked in the 85th percentile or better in total rebounding percentage in three of four seasons, according to Her Hoop Stats.
