Minnyme where do you think the Lynx needs are? I know none will step in as a starter this year so depth is what they'd look for. Someone to replace Wiggins?

Jarry is a SF type. There is a need for a PG type and best fit that could fall is Lindey Moore from Neb. , combo guard type in Alex Bentley are the 2 I'm looking at. If both are gone lots of others that are a few steps down from the rest of the pack. Almost sure 1 of my to picks will be there at 12 but I'm not in the war room. But off the the STH draft party so I can have a few as things unfold ;)

I think the biggest need is a good backup to Whalen. Last year the flow of games changed completely when she was off the floor. I was really hoping they would have drafted Prahalis last year to fill that role.

Thank you. I see they are moving the 3pt line back this year so it'd be nice to get a good shooter from out there

Before the ping pong ball drop for the T-pups, the Lynx will play their only real home pre-season game at noon on Tue 5/21 vs CT Sun.

Jessica Adair was waived last wk. Most likely due to not being healthy enough for the coaches. (appears to continue to have knee issues) Roster stands at 14.

Lynx beat Washington Mystics up in Bismarck on Sat night 74-57.

Wiggins moving on was a mutual decision before it sure Taj & Adair wouldn't return. Getting McCarville, the timing just happened to be right.

We aren't focused on the big picture right now, and that's a good thing. We're focused on daily improvement. That will pave the road ahead."

Phoenix is coming to play the Lynx. If they lose they will have started the season 0-3. Even if that happens I wouldn't count them out but it would be funny as hell.

Amber Harris clearly outplayed Griner on both ends.

If she can keep playing like this, we're in REALLY good shape.

(7 rebounds and 2 blocks for Peters too)

Stat wise for the Lynx you might as well have said (mainly Harris). Seriously after getting Griner to go along with Taurasi, Bonner and all the rest Phoenix was according to many the favorite to win it all this year. Maybe it is the pressure but they are 0-3 so far and in a couple of those games got crushed. WOW.

The Lynx scored 60 points in a half consisting of two 10-minute quarters. That’s three points a minute. Traditionally, that has been accomplished mostly by men with large Afros and a red, white and blue basketball.

The Lynx also tied a franchise record with 30 assists, on 36 baskets, and tied a franchise low with six turnovers. Traditionally, that kind of ratio isn’t accomplished at any level of the game.

The focus, inevitably, was on Brittney Griner, the 6-8 rookie center for the Phoenix Mercury who has been anointed as the WNBA’s Next Big Thing.

Apparently nobody told Amber Harris. And, perhaps, the Lynx has not been informed that the Mercury was the preseason league favorite. Or, maybe, that’s all they’ve heard.

For whatever reason the Lynx (2-0) hit the Target Center court Thursday at 100 miles per hour in a 99-79 victory over Phoenix (0-3) that wasn’t as close as the final score might indicate. It was a one-sided, to-the-woodshed victory in which just about everything the Lynx did, they did well.

And it started with Harris.

The team’s backup center had a career night. She played 30 minutes, mostly against Griner, mostly getting the better of the Mercury rookie. Harris pulled Griner to the perimeter on offense, scoring a career-best 18 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and three blocks — two of Griner shots.

“She was the key to the game,” Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. “Early on I told her, I don’t want her to go just straight up. I want her to go compete, go block her shot. She had a nice one in front of our bench, and she kind of looked at me [as if to say], ‘Like that?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, just like that.’ ”

Harris is in her third season. She entered training camp confident after a strong winter overseas. She has been given more minutes with Taj McWilliams-Franklin retired, and she has taken advantage of it.

“I just went out and played hard,” Harris said. “It feels good to finally get out there and contribute, help my teammates.”

Griner had 16 points and five rebounds. But she didn’t get a block, misfired on a dunk attempt and had a late dunk attempt broken up by Janel McCarville on a hard foul that McCarville actually got the worst of, taking a nasty hit to the face.

“We weren’t having it,” said McCarville, who had four points, four rebounds and three assists. “I got a busted face. My lip’s a little jacked. But it was worth it.’’

While Harris and McCarville were winning their battles, the Lynx were taking care of business everywhere else. Maya Moore had another strong start, scoring 19 of her 22 points in the first half. Seimone Augustus had 19 points, Monica Wright 11. Lindsay Whalen had 10 assists.

The Lynx offense was absurdly efficient. The team tied franchise records for most assists (30, on 36 field goals made) and for fewest turnovers (six).

“It’s so fun to play like that,” Moore said. “It builds everybody up.”

And it started early. The Lynx finished the first quarter on a 20-7 run to lead 32-16. That lead was at 27 by halftime and grew to 35 early in the third quarter. After that Reeve started clearing the bench.

“We have been embracing the notion that when you play hard great things happen to you,” Reeve said. “Tonight was a product of that.’’

The message was different down the hall. The Mercury had a postgame meeting that ran more than 40 minutes past the game’s end. After the doors finally opened, guard Alexis Hornbuckle called her team’s effort embarrassing, and star guard Diana Taurasi (21 points) didn’t disagree. “There is a laundry list of things we need to figure out,” she said. “We will get better.”

10-1 run by the Lynx to tie up the game with 6:30 left.

Ugly game. We've been down by double digits for much of it.

Seimone with WAY too much hero ball. She has 16 points on 20 shots with no assists.

I guess that they are not going to be undefeated this season. I didn't think that they would. I think that it's cool about Harris playing well. She was a top five draft pick I believe, though.

Not as much posting about the Lynx this year. Is there less interest?

I hope not. For me, just really busy w/life but still a STH going to games

The Wolves 2nd pick Gorgui Dieng was at the game & got a nice ovation.
This team is such fun to watch in person. Crowds are into it in spite of game ops sleeping thur much of the game. If people are looking for a basketball fix waiting for the T-pups to get going, need to get out to see the Lynx in person. When they play defense the way they did last night and their offense is spread out & on fire (5 players in double figs) hard to see any team beating them that night.

We have a team that could well make their 3rd finals and nab their 2nd title in 3 years. If you've never been, nows the time to check out the womens pro game.
If you've never been to a game, you are sure to come away with a whole different prospective on how good these women are.
Give 'em a try
