Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore was selected the WNBA's Western Conference player of the month for September. She also was the league's player of the month in August. In five games to wrap up the regular season, the three-year veteran averaged 18 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals in leading the Lynx to a 4-1 record this month. The Lynx (28-6) finished with the league's best record this season to secure homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Minnesota is just the third team in WNBA history to compile three consecutive 25-plus victory seasons. The others are Houston (1998-2000) and Los Angeles (2000-02). Moore finished the regular season leading the WNBA in both three-point accuracy (.453) and three-pointers made (72), the first player in league history to accomplish the feat. The Lynx play host to the Seattle Storm in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Friday at Target Center. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
