The last month what I have been hoping for has started to happen. Maya Moore is asserting her game and her will. It's nice to have the luxury of saying anyone can step up on any give night on this team. I still think you need someone to emerge as the focal point on the floor. If they focus their resources on stopping Moore then it opens the game up for the others to step up. Maya is the biggest talent on a deep team. I'm glad to see her emerging and taking charge more and more.

I wish I'd see Monica try and score more when she's in like she did when Moni was out. I realize that scoring isn't her main job, but if she does get aggressive, it will give others the open shots

But not the first seed overall. I never heard of Elena Delle Donne before. Apparently she's good.

It would come down to the final game if we lose our next one and Chicago wins theirs.

Clear rookie of the year and not far off from already being an MVP candidate.

Head to Target Center Sat night @7pm or tune in to NBA TV as the Lynx final regular season home game is against EDD and the Chicago Sky

Entertaining game tonight in the 84-85 loss to the LA sharks. Got heated tonight; a few elbows, a few technicals, an ejection (picked up 2 Ts for Candace Parker) just another regualar season game So a Western Conf Final of MN/la would be made for TV. Stay tuned.

The Chicago Sky will play a home game Fri night & then come to MPLS on 2nd night of back to back. So should they win Fri night, winner at TC on Sat night will also have the overall home court advantage thru out the playoffs.

A couple things really stood out yesterday:

1. Maya has REALLY improved her handle - even from the start of the year. She's poised to make a big time MVP run next year.

Whalen just owns her position. I really don’t think there’s another player in the league who can so thoroughly dominate her counterpart.

Also mentioned in the broadcast - after moving the three point line back, only three players ended up with 3P% > 40 (19 hit that mark last year). Maya’s 3P% not only went up with the change, she also hit them at a clip well beyond most of the league.

Maya hit 45% of her 3s on nearly 5 attempts per game. Her %'s across the board were ridiculous: 51/45/88

Maya moving up in that upper stratosphere of players with Candace Parker. I consider the McCaughtry, Taurasi, and Augustus group a notch below. Actually Parker has not been Parker for a while now since some injuries. Maya in a class by herself.

Maya is amazing.

High School record of 125-3, and graduated with a 4.0 GPS.

College record of 150-4, and was an Academic All-America, graduating with a 3.7 GPA.

Maya is hopefully on the verge of fully asserting her game. And yes her handle has improved a lot. That was really the only element that was lacking in her game. The ability to attack.

Lindsay is a great combination of court vision, ball handling and strength. She is so strong she simply overpowers other PG and can bounce off post players and maintain balance and position to make plays.

Lost in the shuffle, we signed Seimone to a 3 year extension on Friday. A week after doing the same with Whalen.

Keeping the band together.

I wish the Wolves had that total package equivalent on their team.

Defense is her final hurdle. She has all the tools, but she has a tendency to get lazy and a step slow. Too often it can lead to easy points or a stupid foul.

The AP is reporting that Candace Parker will win the 2013 WNBA MVP award in the closest race since 2005.

Parker edged out Minnesota's Maya Moore and Chicago's Elena Delle Donne in one of the closest ballots in league history, the person told the AP. Parker finished with 234 points, Moore had 218 and Delle Donne 189. It's the closest the top two players have been in the voting since Sheryl Swoopes edged Lauren Jackson by two points in 2005.

Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore was selected the WNBA's Western Conference player of the month for September.

She also was the league's player of the month in August.

In five games to wrap up the regular season, the three-year veteran averaged 18 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.8 steals in leading the Lynx to a 4-1 record this month. The Lynx (28-6) finished with the league's best record this season to secure homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs for the third consecutive year.

Minnesota is just the third team in WNBA history to compile three consecutive 25-plus victory seasons. The others are Houston (1998-2000) and Los Angeles (2000-02).

Moore finished the regular season leading the WNBA in both three-point accuracy (.453) and three-pointers made (72), the first player in league history to accomplish the feat.

The Lynx play host to the Seattle Storm in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Friday at Target Center. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.

Crazy to think this team is owned by the same guy who owns the Wolves.

I got a good laugh out of Cheryl Reeve on Dan Barerrio's show yesterday. He asked her about Bill Lambeer ripping her for continuing to play Maya Moore in a blowout. She supposedly had dinner with Lambeer since. She told him that she has a good relationship with Bill and that all in all he is a good guy and that he knows she gave him everything had as an assistant coach..."but with that said... Bill's kind of an ass".

When a max salary is barely over 100K, its easy to keep a team together.
