Lynx only 6-4 over last 10 games after starting season 12-3. Not very Lynx like lately. Hope they gel in time for the playoffs.

The lynx are in a full blown tail spin right now. Really disappointing after picking up Fowles and getting Augustus back.

Lynx reach 20 wins again

Maya Moore finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals, leading the Lynx to a 71-61 win over the Mercury, moving Minnesota 3 games clear of Phoenix in the Western Conference standings

Well with the win over the Mercury looks like the Lynx have at least wrapped up the west. Hope the injury to Whalen is minor.

Ultimately it wasn’t a full blown tailspin. After the Fowles trade post All-Star break, looking back, a team can't flip half the roster (adding Jones, Cruz, Montgomery, Fowles & Kelly) missing a starter & the lead PG playing in pain and avoid struggle. All the talk about the Lynx being an ‘Olympic’ team (which on the Women’s side is never the 12 ‘best’) was a bunch of BS . Bringing in Fowles required adjustments in style of play. Lots of turnovers were due to forcing the ball into Fowles; too much 1-on-1 play, Montgomery learning the offense and a brutal Aug schedule (8 of 11 on the road, chris crossing the country. )

The team needed time to figure out/learn how to play together, where people need the ball to be effective and so on. Without Seimone & Lindsay they beat Phx; next game when Moore got popped in the nose & left the gm mid-way in the 3rd qtr, the team played very well & beat the Indiana Fever. They’re figuring things out so don’t lose hope on 'em just yet

Sun 9/6 final FSN TV game tip 6:00pm ct

3 games left of the reg season: vs NY, Tue host Seattel, Fri at Seatte.

Magic # is 1 win/Phx loss to lock up home court in the West.
Magic # for home court through out maybe 4 ? combo wins/NY losses. NY has 1 less loss w/4 gms left to play. So whoever wins the game tonight knocks 2 of the 4 with the win.

Playoffs due to start Sept 17 or 18.

Augustus & Whalen out for rest of reg season. Seimone is out of the boot earlier this wk(ankle sprain) and limited in practice. Lindsay on the other hand is still in a boot w/bursitis (sp) in her ankle & Achilles pain. "Mone should be ready by then, Whalen we can only hope.

In the meantime the team is coming out of its funk, Fowles is looking more comfortable and others are stepping up with players out. This years play off are setting up to be very interesting/entertaining. Things could go right to the end of the season before the final spots are set.
In long run I think our Lynx still have a very good chance to make it to the Finals & battle to win it all

The Liberty beat the injury depleted Lynx at the Lynx tonight basically wrapping up home court throughout the playoffs. The Lynx should be able to wrap up the West soon and good chance these teams meet again in the finals.

WNBA playoffs off to a hot start. Lynx win by 2 behind 33 points by Maya and Seimone gets 17 in her first game back. The liberty lose game one and in danger or elimination. Phoenix buries Tulsa behind 11 blocks from Griner.

Of course I'll be there 2 teams that don't much care for each other so will be a fun, hype atmosphere, win or go fishing.
If the Lynx do a better job of spacing the floor and not rushing/forcing shot AND defend & rebound, they should come away with the win.

*8pm ct tip on ESPN2 (or after the NY/Waah East game 3-hope for no OT)

I got the home team Get 'er done Ladies

The Two Best Teams In The WNBA Don’t Need Threes

By IAN LEVY

The top two seeds in the WNBA playoffs — the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx — each face a win-or-go-home scenario Tuesday night in the third game of their best-of-three first-round series. Both teams won better than 60 percent of their games in the regular season with a fairly similar style. Most notably, neither team seemed particularly concerned with the 3-pointer on offense or defense. That’s radically different from the popular formula for success in the NBA, where analytics suggest that 3-pointers are the most efficient shot in the game. But things are different in the WNBA, and by not emphasizing the 3-pointer, the Liberty and Lynx have found their own way.

In the 12-team league, the Liberty and Lynx tied for 10th in the percentage of their shots that came from behind the 3-point line. Instead, they favor offensive strategies that mostly work inside the arc — post-ups and side pick-and-rolls that end around the elbows. Defensively, the Liberty allowed the league’s highest percentage of opponents’ shots to come from behind the 3-point line; the Lynx allowed the fourth-highest.

This is by far the toughest road to the title the Lynx have faced. LA was a completely different team when Parker returned and everyone got healthy. Now they face another team that knows how to win a championship. The Mercury are still very formidable and dangerous without Taurasi. Get past them and its likely the Liberty, who are probably the strongest challengers out of the east in several year. On top of that, Augustus and Whalen are playing through injury. They showed a lot of desire, coming out on top against the Sparx. They are going to need that going forward with hopefully Whalen and Augustus getting a little healthier as well.

It's the toughest road because we're not as dominant.

It's both. The Lynx have key players who are older and beat up right now. The rest of the league is also getting better.

Been thinking that too ... The L must be better, because our roster sure seems better.
And easy ones are now rare, instead of expected.

I think this title that our ladies are going to win will be the most satisfying of them all. However, beating the Liberty on the road is going to be very difficult.

Brunson and Fowles both vastly outplay Griner in the first half, but only a 3 point lead...

Poor shooting and turnovers. Need to clean it up.
