Fowles now with the double-double 2 minutes into the 3rd.

Maya has really struggled offensively, but she's hit some big ones late.

Fowles misses 2 FTs, but Brunson gets her 19th rebound.

And makes 1 of 2.

5 point game. 30 seconds.

A win on the road would go a long ways towards making another title realistic ...
Would be really nice to finish this off in two.

Ain't that the truth. I got home and started watching just as Phoenix took a 21-12 lead. We then go on a 20-2 run. I am taking the credit for this win. Go Lynx. Sexist comment that I have to make. Brunson was the MAN.

Did Maya miss the last free throw on purpose? It would make sense to me because it's really hard to score with two seconds and without the benefit of an inbound pass.

Kind of sad the way the game had to end but seen it happen in the NBA too so such is life.

Sooooo proud of this team

Only a VERY speacial team can battle through injuries to key starters, spend a season literally flipping half its roster (6 of 12 players were not in a Lynx uni opening day) by trades & late fill-ins and mid season, attempt to change their identity and fundamentally how they've played for 5 years, again, mid season and win easily. Takes more then just talent, takes time to adjust, a little luck sure, great leaders and more. Yes Maya is a freak but props to ALL the Los Lynx players for battling and ... for the 4th time in 5yrs
punching a ticket back to the WNBA FINALS BABY !!

"I have my moments, but these three, when it comes to emotional leadership, these guys are stepping up and keeping our team's head in the right place. It's so important when it comes to maintaining greatness."

Gratz to the Lynx. Bring home the title ladies. I love watching them play. We didn't go straight to dominant when we acquired Fowles like I and many others suspected, but it sure was nice to have somebody to stand up to Griner.

Fowles and Brunson were just a force on defense and the glass.

Griner:
Conf. Semis: 20.5 PPG (63%), 9.5 FTAs, 10 RPG, 8 BPG
Conf. Finals: 12.0 PPG (50%), 3.5 FTAs, 6 RPG, 1 BPG

Pretty funny listening to Reeves tonight on KARE11 when asked about "getting away with one"
Smooth answer, basically just talked about the great play Maya made and never apologized one iota.
I like it. No one ever makes our world right, screw it. Game over. On to the Finals. Again.

I heard on the radio yesterday that she did miss deliberately. I also heard that the league came out with the opinion that Maya should not have been fouled on the play. I obviously didn't see it.

It definitely should not have been a foul. With that said, the Lynx don't control what the ref calls and Maya took advantage and buried the dagger deep. I think this team has impressed me more than the previous ones. They are doing with grit, savvy and just plain knowing how to win. They are badly beaten up right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Augustus, Whalen and Brunson don't report to their Euro teams for at least a couple of months after the playoffs are over.
