When all of the trade Waynes talk was hot I was chiming in that it was better to trade Rhodes. Looks like we need both right now, but Rhodes looks like he is on the downslope of his career and falling fast.

Last year I supported Siemian over Sloter. Siemian at least had a full year starting (plus more) with a 87 passer rating (w/o looking it up). Sloter first full year in the organization, had only played QB 1 year at a Division II school (I think).

Mannion has a total of 50 passes. And looked awful.

I'm not saying anoint Sloatgoat. But give him a chance to earn it (too late now tho)

Eff it. Just crown him the #2.

If for no other reason than Sloter could legitimately be our QB of the future in 1-2 years. There is a 0% chance Mannion can be.

That really sums it up for me.

Certainly hope nothing happens to our starter as most teams we’d probably be cooked, however watching Sean Mannion waltz into the huddle knowing that this is our guy brings back fond memories of retreads like Brooks Bollinger, Kelly Holcomb, and Spergeon Wynn.

With Sloter it appears his ceiling is quite high (Infinitely higher then the Sloth Mannion) I’d be willing to live with his learning curve.

Not even mentioning that we’re not on the solidest of grounds with our present starter in terms of HIS play either.

Chad Beebe ran his route wrong on Mannion's pick 6, had several drops vs the Cardinals and also ran the wrong route vs the Cardinals which led to a Cousins incompletion. He accounted for 4 incomplete passes between drops and running the wrong route vs the Cardinals.

I had big hopes for him but he has been a disappointment this preseason. Home those mistakes are "easily correctable" and it doesn't bite us in a regular season game.

Never understood the Chad Beebe Love.
Think he’d be great at if he showed up at your HS practice.
Wouldn’t want him at my College team, much less my pro team.

Frail and small doesn't excite me.
The guy had 64 receptions and 930 yards in 4 years of college and ran a 4.68 40.

What am I missing?

Don't you know? Tearing it up in practice counts for a lot more than production on game day according Zimmer.

Good point.
The Zimmer act is getting old as well.
This is his last year here if he doesn’t win 2 playoff games in my opinion.

Tough guy act plays better as a Coordinator than the top man in today’s NFL.

I missed the game but Beebe sounds like he's misreading coverages resulting in being in the wrong spot by stopping when he is suppose to be continuing the route. Certainly unacceptable and will cost us dearly when the games matter.

I don't know if this place holding duty is costing him practice time as a wr or not. But this needs to be ironed out quickly.

No problem,
He can mask that with all of his speed, size, and experience.

Wait, what?

But, But But Beebe, but but but but Thielen.

I was wondering if the Vikings should pick him up, but I think no.

https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/2114775001

It does make the point that there will be some temptations as teams announce their roster cuts.

Haven't opened the link, but it says amp.

Amp Lee I guess.

Are we signing Amp Lee???

Interesting that Billy Price has been demoted to second team center with Bengals. He may have been on the Vikes short list for 2018 draft.

On the other end, Bisi Johnson has looked really good so far. He has appeared to be the third-best WR on the team, just ahead of Zylstra.

If all true, hard to believe.

Hard to believe he's our best #3.

I have watched the entirety of three preseason games and IMO, bisi and zylastra are better than Bebe, even Taylor puts more effort into contested throws, Taylor being that white kid with the long dark brown hair just begging for a “ hair tackle “ to happen...

But, as is becoming far too annoyingly obvious, Zimmer play favorites, and likes to have his ego sucked on by certain position players, “ better for the Roster” be damned.

The shine is off Zimmer, regardless of the defensive improvement.

It takes offense and defense to win in the NFL, and backup QB is no place for your pet rock, when you have an offensive gunslinger, who makes all the throws and scores touchdowns pigeon holed as the #3 QB.

Pffffft..

End rant before it gets out of hand.

I think they will be really good or really bad. I think if it starts to go sideways the team will essentially quit, because they will realize the "Zimmer way" is a crock of shit and Cousins isn't a winner.

Plus the schedule looks tough on paper, not going to half ass it to many wins.

There are a couple positives going into the season for me is that they shored up the oline with Kline and Bradbury, added a big threat at TE, Cook looks healthy, and the LBs (mostly Kendricks and Barr) look healthy going into the season. This is one of the deepest Vikings teams we have had in years as they added some offense this year.

I would rather have a wake up call in the 3rd preseason game then during the season.

Typical fan forum. Three preseason games under our belts and we're already predicting the firing of the coach and GM and unloading our starting QB after the season.
