You like that trade proposal?

I watched some highlights

That third goal of the period was pretty.

Came into the zone looking to score vs dump and chase

And old man Koivu made a nice play on the second goal.

Never know what to think about Zucker, Ed.
I know most love his speed, but he's simply to me, another "scorer' who doesn't score enough. (for what else he brings)
They brought up last night that he was inspired, because he was moved down to 4th line.
First, you deserved the demotion.
Second, you shouldn't need motivation.
Third, you started strong again, and then disappeared the rest of the night.
Maybe he's one who just needs a change of scenery.
I really don't think we'd miss his contributions much.
With Fiala emerging nightly, our needs keep changing form. He makes a guy like Zucker, who has had his opp, expendable.

Zucker is hot garbage at this point. We wouldn't miss him. He's tied for 162nd in points. Yawn. With his speed he should be netting them every other night but he can't. And, as you said my man, he still needs "motivation"? Are you f'ing kidding me?

If Guerin can pull off a trade for Zucker that turns out like the Fiala for Granny trade is looking now I am all for it.
Zucker is one of our few tradeable assets and honestly, I think like many players on this team, he is far too comfortable at the St Paul Country Club known as the Wild.

Its been fun watching Granny and Fiala firing shots across each others bows.
You can't tell me they don't know.
Granny's game picked up about 4 notches the past week. Hmmmmmmmm
Had a big goal for them late last night

Here is the thing; we have seen it from Granny before. Have a couple weeks where he gets everyone excited and then .... meh. Fiala is working on his own consistency issues, but is 5 years younger, a LOT faster and costs a LOT less money. Fiala has more points than Granny, playing 3 fewer minutes a game.

Granny got drafted by the wrong team. He had a huge upside but came to a team who's captain (and his idol) was way too passive. It killed any chance he had at being elite. His play got worse the longer he was around 9.

The thing with Granny, and Zucker for that matter, is they have stretches where they play like gangbusters, but have always seemed to play small in the playoffs. We want guys that will up their game come playoff time, not wilt under the pressure of a more physical style of game.

I don't know Jeff. I remember reading reports before he joined the Wild, that the fans were getting their hopes up a little too high. Some scouts felt that his lack of speed and size would hinder his game on the smaller NHL ice sheet. He's been in Nashville for a full year now and he looks like the same player.

Yup, his first couple of years here he had to really work on his speed and strength just to become a serviceable NHL'er.

I wasn't talking about his speed or size. You're right. They were big questions for him coming over. His game got lazy the longer he was with us. No more driving the net goals (like the one in the playoffs). It was floating around the ice, reaching ect...

Such a great kid.
A true suffering Minnesotan
He's one of us. Love it.

I read that one yesterday but didn't have time to post it, glad you did.
Truly a must read for any Minnesotan.
Stories like this from Russo are why I still have The Athletic subscription.

Most excellent!

Fun to read, many chuckles.

Big question is, will the KFAN frat boys follow Carly out of town, too?
Can only hope.
Their crushed teenage-boy wet dreams would be enough to make this all worth it.

Parise's 1,000th game tonight

Not sure if I will watch much tonight. After the thumping we put on them last time they will come out looking for revenge. And, the Gophers are on tonight as well, so I will be channel jumping.

Doooobs gives up first 2 of the game, then no more. Nice run by the Wild this week.

Three SH goals in a game? That has to be a record! Where is SMF to celebrate this achievement?

Where did you come up with short handed goals? I only watched the last 10 minutes of the game, but the game winner wasn't short handed. I read the gamer in the Strib and no mention of short handed goals.....? It was nice to see us get a game winner with under a minute to go.

I know I've been extreme on my views of 9 over the years. I just never bought in to him. But my goodness. What "superstar" in professional sports would say, when being demoted to the bottom line, "It's ok, I will do what the team wants"?

That's paraphrasing but it's what he said. He may be burning up inside but holy S. Any true competitor would be pissed and fighting to get back up to the first.

Not content that he'll do what the team wants. I know many will appreciate his willingness to help but holy crap man. Have some fight in you.
