Currently, Minnesota has the fifth-best odds in the league to win this season’s Super Bowl according to the Action Network. With their current odds, the Vikings are believed to have a 7.63 percent chance of ending up with their franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl victory this year.

Only the New England Patriots (29.41 percent), New Orleans Saints (22.22), San Francisco 49ers (15.55), and Packers (14.64) have a higher chance to win the Super Bowl after the first eight weeks of the season. The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles also have the same Super Bowl odds as Minnesota right now.

It seems strange that we have same odds as the Eagles.

I think it's stranger that the eagles have the same odds as the convoys

We have the tiebreaker with the Eagles PLUS two games at hand.

Right, but technically the Eagles are closer to winning their division.

Trading Le’Veon Bell:

Leaves behind dead cap hits to the #Jets of $7.19M in 2019, & $6M in 2020.

Brings cap figures of $1.7M, $13.5M, $11.5M, & $13M to a new team...

Spotrac on Twitter

Reportedly, the Texans and Chiefs are interested. I don't think Bell could be ready for the Chiefs by Sunday. I could be wrong.

Can't argue with you there Charch!

They rank 24th in pass blocking.
Cousins is the #1 deep passer (throws over 20 yards)with a 136.9 rating.

Redskins reportedly now open to dealing Trent Williams, offer already on the table

The Washington Redskins are now open to trading star left tackle Trent Williams, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. They've already started looking at potential trade partners for a Williams deal and Rapoport notes that the Cleveland Browns are one of those clubs.

Following Rapoport citing Washington's change of position on Williams, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported that the Redskins have told teams that they have a second-round pick offer on the table. Given that, it appears like they are holding out for a first-round draft pick in exchange for the decorated offensive lineman.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/trent-williams-trade-rumors-six-likely-deadline-destinations-for-the-all-pro-offensive-tackle/

Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings needed to make their offensive line a priority in the offseason and they did draft center Garrett Bradbury in the first round. However, Riley Reiff has not solidified the left tackle position. Minnesota could actually include Reiff in the deal which would lessen the blow of Williams' loss. Minnesota's run game has been dominant this season and the addition of an elite left tackle would only strengthen that cause in addition to providing protection for Kirk Cousins, who dispelled notions that he struggles against good teams this past weekend.

It should be an interesting day trade-wise, but haven't heard anything new yet. Williams would be a nice pickup, but they probably want too much. Some jackwagon was guessing Devonte Parker could be sent to the Vikings as a part of Miami's fire sale (would have made more sense if Teddy was still here), but I doubt it due to the emergence of Bisi and Josh Dachshund is returning this week too.

Williams is an upgrade over Reiff, but not even to warrant a high cost, imo. There's also the impact on the cap - would Washington even want Reiff?

Williams is probably not in game shape either, there's also the chemistry of the line to consider - which has been improving week to week. How much would it disrupt it to change it now?

At the beginning of the season - if there was a way to include Reiff - I would have been for it. Now not so much.

i agree, we need cap relief, not another major contract extension - plus williams hasn't been to training camp or played football in 10 months...move o'neill to lt and draft a rt in the 2nd round....

There's a reason the Vikes wouldn't risk sneaking Oli Udoh onto the practice squad.

I think it's a mistake to just assume that O'Neill can just slide over to the left side.

The time to look into that possibility was during OTAs, not during the season. It's easy to assume that O'Neill would be an upgrade to Reiff, given that he has given 1 sack in his career and is much more athletic than Reiff, but there are other things to consider before you can make a move like that. 1. Reiff faces a better pass rusher every week than O'Neil. Even if he is as good or better than Reiff, O'Neil may be better on the right side. Getting into a pass block is different footwork depending which tackle you play. RT may just prove to be more natural to O'Neil.

Overall, I would not be surprised if O'Neill ultimately proved to be a better LT than Reiff, but it may not necessarily be the best thing for the line. Like I said, the time to look into it is OTA's.

And they may have done SOME of that, under the guise of "position flexibility". (so as to not hurt Reiff's feelings )

I'm pretty sure he was talking about doing it in the offseason since it was in addition to drafting a RT in R2.

My worry is that people who watched O'Neill in college seem to think he was much better on the right side the the left.

It's entirely possible with enough work/coaching he can be as good on the left side as he is on the right, but a lot of people seem to assume it's a sure thing.

Just assume go to war with who we have at this stage.

If Wash would take Rieif and a mid round pick for Williams I'd jump on that but doubt they would.

We are going to have to make some trimmings next year and moving O'Neal to LT and cutting Reiff loose has to be on the table.

Good early returns this PS on Udoh might make this a reality.

My memory, though faulty, was that in the Senior Bowl he held up much better on the left in reps and got crushed on the right. I also thought he played better on the left in college but feel much less confident on my memory on that.

I don't think it's true that a LT sees better rushers. That's really evolved over time. You've had Miller and others change that. A lot of teams are moving DEs based on matchups.

I think this will be a similar situation as Lane Johnson. We might decide ONeil is better on the left.

I do think Collins (if he ever gets healthy) and Udoh give us more options on the right side

If Oneil's growth allows the switch - I think we'll be a better team for it. ONeil has surprised all of us. He was supposed to be a redshirt guy.

PFF have the Vikings ranked as the #11 offensive line in the NFL. In 2017 I don’t believe the Vikings ever made it pass #22. What a turn around.

(Deshawn Vaughan on Twitter)

They rank 24th in pass blocking.
Cousins is the #1 deep passer (throws over 20 yards)with a 136.9 rating.

Cousins deserves credit for his passing with less than stellar pass blocking. The run blocking must be outstanding.

Probably shouldn't rely on my memory but I thought the 2017 oline was like 17th...

i don't think i've ever seen a more nimble/athletic tackle with his length...i know he played tight end in college and i think he still looks the part...one of these days in a stacked o-line set with o'neill out wide we'll all get to see him in action - i'm guessing it's going to be inside the two-minute warning - 3rd and goal from the 7 yard line - a playoff game....

Our version of the philly philly?

Speaking of philly philly - I never have understood when a QB lines up somewhere else, why aren't defensive players coached to blow them up? A Defensive end could of push Nick Foles all the way to the 30 yard line and then rushed the QB. Am I missing something?

Trent Williams just reported to Washington Redskins.

Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero
By reporting to the #Redskins, Trent Williams prevents his contract from tolling. He's due $5,823,529 in base salary for the rest of 2019 (plus $15,625 for each game he's active) and then will have one year left, due $12.5M in 2020.

So if you have a statue like T.B., Flacco or Cousins, or a game plan you're not flanking your QB out, you're good to go?
