Good stuff Dana

In regard to the 4th down play

It appeared that Wash sold out on it being a qb sneak. It also appeared like they knew the snap count and crashed in toward Bradbury before either blocker on our left side could get their hands on someone.

Perhaps Cousins needs to change up his cadence more often. Thought we were just going to try a draw them offside and was surprised we actually ran a play there.

It seems to me that it would be clever to wait until the last second to snap the ball where the defense might relax just a bit thinking that we were just trying to draw them offside.

Either way I think we telegraphed what we were doing or the Wash defense guessed correctly. They seemed to beat our oline off the snap count which I think is on Cousins.

How 'bout those MN Vikings special teams this season! It's almost like some ding-dong that didn't really know what he was doing has moved on from a significant coaching position.

For the second time this season, Dan Bailey has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week!

And a net punting average of 42.7? One thwarted fake FG and a blocked punt? All this without needing to put first-round-talent in the return game to cover up for the ineptitude of the guy in charge?

Oh what could have been had this change happened when Zimmer came on board...

Looked like a 1st round pick in the return game to me.

Mike Zimmer on whether it's harder to call plays on offense or defense: "If it doesn't work on offense, you can punt. If it doesn't work on defense, they put their hands up like this." *signals touchdown*

Chris Tomasson@christomasson
#Vikings Mike Zimmer on Jayron Kearse arrest (& Mike Hughes in car): "I’m very, very ticked off. Since I’ve been here the last six years, I’ve worked extremely hard to clean up the reputation of this organization, this team off the field ... For them to do that is really idiotic"

Ben Goessling@GoesslingStrib
The Vikings are bringing Josh Doctson off injured reserve today, which would likely mean Davion Davis heading back to the practice squad if the team released him today. They’d need another move to make room for Holton Hill to come off the suspended list.

Are any of you regretting the choice of Cousins now, or do you all agree that the window of opportunity for a Super Bowl is open with him?

I'm sure all the week 4 cliff jumpers will be piping in on this subject. Speaking of the cliff jumpers... <crickets>

Since Doctson isn't available to play until the Dallas game, seems like we wouldn't have to open a roster spot for him until that week.

Another reason that the window for the Super Bowl is open.

He must be practicing well, but I'm curious to see if he will be deactivated or not on game day.

Edit: Just read BigO's comment that he is not eligible until the Dallas game. The timing is bewildering to me.

we have three weeks to move doctson to the 'active roster'...i think that we also get a one week exemption regarding holton hill....

My guess is they actually allow the player a week of practice (prior to the week they are re-activated) so that they can be ready to play when they are activated.

And it's not like his 2 returns for 9 yards is exactly a "job saver" for a coach.

Interesting take bigo. Before I pass judgement, I would want more details. The PED suspension, wasn't if for a masking agent? I know it looks bad (like Elf being called for holding penalties), but couldn't it be an honest mistake? As for marijuana, I think that rule is archaic and part of the reason why athletes have issues with opioids. Had a buddy who played in the NHL and they (team doctors) prescribed ambien, opioids like candy. I also hope it will be part of the new CBA.

I get with that with his pre-draft problems he should be extra cautious but I did some pretty stupid things at that age.

It definitely is archaic. But, at least for now, it's still a rule. A very specific one with very specific penalties.

And knowing just what it can cost him and still violating it multiple times says a lot about Hill as well.

Part of being a grown-up is complying with rules you may not agree with. If you have a problem with a rule, fight to get it changed. Don't just disregard it.

Actually it was Zimmer who's "worked extremely hard to clean up the reputation of this organization, this team off the field" not me. Sorry for the confusion.

And I agree with everything you say. Question about the opioids. Are they on the banned list, or do the traces just wear off really fast?

This one is a video of a video game so I don't know how to do it any other way. Perhaps someone else can help us out. Having a Twitter account is as easy as signing in here at talkvikes or Facebook, though. I get the work thing, though.

I completely understand the criticism on the drug violation. It's just not something, I personally, take issue with and would want him kicked off the team for. It's painful to see a talented young man squander such an opportunity. I'm rooting for him.

Pat Mahomes running in practice. Looks close to being ready to me, but maybe still a no go for Sunday. It looks kind of similar to a video of the Giants RB just before the Vikings game. He needed a few more days too.
