https://www.dailynorseman.com/2019/11/20/20971092/kirk-cousins-quietly-having-his-best-season-and-perhaps-nfl-best-this-year-too Interesting article. I like reading wulford but I do have one huge exception (and not only with him but this "myth"/narrative): While in Washington, it was said that Cousins didn’t shoulder the blame well, instead pointing the finger at other players, and that created some friction between him and his teammates, while also making his leadership role more difficult. I have never seen a teammate or coach go on record. In fact - all the info I could find back when we were debating signing Cousins, I couldn't find anything. What I do know for a fact: both Shanahans (Kyle/Mike) and McVay LOVE him as a player. Which would NEVER happen if he was a bad teammate or poor leader. Never. The rest of the article is interesting. I didn't realize Cousins is a .600 wining QB since joining Vikings. 16-10-1. Obviously can change quickly. The other thing someone pointed out that doesn't talked about - his Cousins durability. We went from Teddy, to Bradford, all with injuries (and that's just recent history). Cousins would be the first QB to start 16 games back to back in the history of our team! Mind blowing. Would you resign him right now at a reasonable rate? I would. I don't think his play is a fluke. I would also draft a QB to develop. But our offense is very good and could be for awhile. Only 2 holes right now imo: A stud LG and stud 3rd WR (I project ONeil to LT and either Collins or Udoh at RT, our TEs esp Smith to continue to improve, Bradbury to be a top 5 center, and Samia to take over at RG in two years - A LOT OF ASSUMPTIONS I know). Complete aside: Bradbury (I read) is the 9th rated center since game 4
