ORIGINAL: twinsfan Zulgad on the Thielen ankle injury: https://www.skornorth.com/vikings-2/2020/01/vikings-top-wide-receivers-both-miss-practice-time/ a cut on is ankle with stitches - imo he'll be playing saturday.... That is what is expected. Here's the Tom Pelissero blurb on it. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Vikings "will proceed with caution" while evaluating Adam Thielen (ankle). Specifically, the Vikings' stud WR needed stitches for a bad cut on his ankle suffered in practice Wednesday. Thielen is tentatively expected to suit up for this week's matchup against the 49ers. Thielen (65 snaps in Wild Card) and Stefon Diggs (65) worked well ahead of Bisi Johnson (27) last week, as the Vikings utilized plenty of two-TE sets with Kyle Rudolph (72) and Irv Smith (43). FB C.J. Ham (22) was also plenty involved. Volume has been tough to come by in this passing game all season: Only the Titans and Ravens threw fewer passes than the Vikings. The entire passing game isn't set up all that well against the 49ers' beastly secondary. SOURCE: Tom Pelissero on Twitter Jan 9, 2020, 9:02 AM ET “49ers beastly secondary”? Sheesh, I just watched more then one preview show that said the niners benched one of their starting CB’s at the end of the year, and that Richard Sherman has been struggling? Hmmmmm different strokes from different jokes (Florio) I guess? The 49ers D has been good this year. However, the Saints sure lit them up. I always thought their strength was in the front 7 more than the secondary. If our full offense is intact we are going to be able to score on them a lot. Too much talent not to.
