Ya know, I took a lot of people off block...

Mainly because others would respond to their trolling with unbridled hook line and sinker enthusiasm, going so far as to quote, dissect and repost entire conversations, back and forth between troll and trolled....

I can’t control that.

People wonder why many of our past posters no longer post here

It’s simple.

The ratio of “Vikings suck, player ‘x’ sucks, coach ‘x’ sucks, play calling ‘x’ sucks, game plan ‘x’ sucks “, etc... ad nauseas, far outweighs rational debate about players, coaches and game plan approaches that are well thought out and based on a real grasp of cost, salary, age, availability, and the fact that the talent pool , although quite expansive across all of the football “ minor leagues “ is very broad and has depth, there are not 1,696 all pro players, 32 “ perfect” head coaches, 64 starting or quality level Quarterbacks, or for that matter, a “perfect formula” for winning.

Every franchise has to find its way..
Luck and league favoritism is a real thing.
The NFL is a HUGE entertainment money making circus, owned and controlled by billionaire owners and corporate executives, sponsors, and media companies.

It is pure and simple, a cash cow.

We, as fans, control nothing, but the amount of money and anguish and devotion we invest in our choosen favorite.

I may very well die, before the Vikings ever win it all and hoist the Lombardi Trophy in long-standing, righteous vindication.

That FACT, will not change my love of the game, this team, or like minded fans who bleed purple, chant “SKOL”, and have a party before during and after all wins and losses.

Ya Whiners , bitchy, cant stand to not get your way, wannabes, can go take a flying finger Fuq at a rolling donut hole.

I won’t engage you...
CPA, Ragnor, Childress, etc..

I know who the good reads and well thought out posters are....
The rest of you embarrass yourselves..

Essentially, anyone who disagrees with your irrational support of a "what have you ever accomplished professional sports franchise" (that you admittedly have zero control over) is viewed as obscene by you and others who share your devotion to the MN Vikings. You sound like an old rebel from Mississippi who doesn't understand that the War is over! That is the Civil War that ended nearly 155 years ago. Dem dare Yankees nevah beat us ole'boys. We whooped and whoopped em' good!

That is bound to happen when the sports franchise the website is targeting plays like a playoff game was the toilet bowl.

People tend to vent a little after playoff losses. I'm sure we'll all be suckered in again next fall.

Yup, I said the same thing. And IMO, I would be happy as hell if Spielman and Zimmer both were fired, and deservedly so. I feel sorry for the season ticket fans who have significant time and money invested into this sports franchise and have to hear it from the owners that they are behind a couple of losers who have done next to nothing during their tenure that was more than enough time to establish a champion.

I personally would like them to be replaced as well but it's not going to happen until after next year. To their credit they went into NO and won a game I gave us no chance in. I feel like that gives them another year. Do I think they figure it out next year? Unfortunately I don't. I don't think we're quite to rebuilding stage so we're going to have to see what transpires next season before we see big changes. I'm not sure if sneaking onto the wild card is enough for them to keep their jobs(Speilman and Zimmer) but it feels like that's the ceiling. Who knows though? I'll be keeping an eye on some of the moves and the draft and hoping for the best.

May well see Son's Zimmer and Kubiak take over the head coordinator positions.

Not sure if I like that idea or not. While both lack the experience but at least a son would probably not be afraid to do what he thinks should be done w/o fear of being fired.

Yikes!

Kubiak's son? Maybe ok.

Zimmer's son; I was already thinking about that and I had the not-so-fun thought of a bunch of Ben Gedeons running around getting smoked on D.

Maybe he learned from that mistake, or maybe the apple doesn't fall far from the tree..

Wow, DeFilippo is suddenly having a hard time keeping a job. The Vikes fired him in less than 1 year and now Jacksonville fired him after 1 season.

We were a team heavily invested in defense, with a defense minded HC and numbers to bear out that defense had gotten us to the NFCCG the year before.

After 2018 It seemed we needed a couple things to shore up like OL and DL inside linemen. A QB was on list but mid teir game manager is where I really thought they would look, honestly look what they did with a semi mobile Case Freaking Keenum who could think on his feet.

I really didnt see us neglecting/ underestimating talent on both lines (forgot Richardson signing that we really missed this year) and going all in on Cousins, coupled with hire of a OC in Flip month prior that was better suited to run an RPO type game plan with more mobile QB.

Cant put the nut back in the shell, and going forward its Kirk and company for 2020...

Fame or Flame... Its all on this regimes final fling...

Yeah one of those under the radar losses. We couldn't pay him but he was very good last season, another one of those all in type signing that panned out but the OLine just capsized everything last season.

Maybe we should bring Flip to be a our passing game coordinator. Flip still needs to learn how to run a game plan instead of just calling beaters. The Jags personnel doesn't suit Flip's style at all. Wouldn't surprise me to see Minshew struggle without him next year.

Excellent come back! At least I know that you did not block me. Good job. I will behave. Happy New Year Dan! Hoping for better Vikings returns in the upcoming 2020 season.

And BTW, my father is 85 years old and got me hooked on Fran Tarkenton in 1965 when he was throwing passes to Paul Flatley. So my angst with the Vikings goes wayyyyyy back pretty much to the beginning when they first made the playoffs after I believe the 1968 season. I just have not maintained the same passion for a team that promises great things and never delivers that you and others on this forum embellish.

It appears Zimmer will be back. There is little chance he or Spielman will sign up for a rebuild, so we are not going to trade the likes of Kendricks and Cook.

I could see them not retaining Griffin and trying to replace him with Weatherly.

Love Harris but he's going to be too expensive.

Another season has come to an end for our Vikings. Almost mirrors the one two seasons ago when the Eagles made our defense and inept offense look silly, but there is a strange sense of calm in me these days. I think it is because the "cash cow" Daniel talks about has really worn on me and I'm just about through caring about it any longer. Oh sure, I will always look to see what the purple and gold are doing, you can't root for a team for over 55 years and just stop the curiosity. My problem is that the NFL is not entertaining like it used to be. There are some parts of it that are still exciting to watch, but really, it's just not the product it once was and that's OK. My slow, gradual drift away from the NFL has taught me that I don't need to invest the emotions that used to follow great victories or horrific defeats. I just need to see it for what it is, an entertainment venue that is longer that entertaining. It's kinda gone the same way as Hollywood, movies are getting increasingly harder to watch and what used to be a fun time at the movies has turned in to an expensive realization that I just wasted $30.

My assignment here in Shanghai will end this spring. Maybe I can get back to the states and get back in to coaching young men in high school, find that love for the game again. There's nothing like spring practice on a freshly mowed field, whistles blowing, pads popping. Lord knows I need to find the beauty in the the game again, because what the NFL has turned into, isn't the magnificent sight it once was. I'll check in from time to time, you guys and gals enjoy your lives and try not to fret about the small stuff!

I have recorded each game without knowing how the game is going and watch while catching up. I can't stand the commercials, either. My time is precious. Unfortunately as I get older and older I need to sleep more and I have less and less time, but that is one thing that I do to create more time.

Seemed very talented from the little bit he was on the field. Liked him as the big nickle in spots or to replace a LB to cover a faster TE. However, he was obviously in Zim's doghouse for some reason and wants out. He won't be back. It's a shame too, I'm sure we'll do well elsewhere.

Yawn...

Multiple sources tell @SiriusXMNFL that Adam Zimmer is the main candidate to become next @Vikings defensive coordinator working under his dad Mike. Adam has served as MIN LBs coach the past 6 seasons & helped develop two good ones in Eric Kendricks & Anthony Barr...
