Replacing Elf and Rhodes has to be a given.

Zimmer talked to Parcells about how to get over the hump......

Also said we have OL guys who have basically redshirted, but overall hopes that the OL "becomes even more of a strength."

Wants OC with same system, same playcalls, same motions, same schemes.....

Internal hire---book it.

So Zimmer still wants to play Parcells ball 25 years too late. Exciting!

What kind of ball is Tennessee playing? And what kind of ball did SF bury us with?

So we're getting Derrick Henry and an awesome offensive line? Not to mention by far the best defense in the NFL when healthy? Good luck on that.

If next year starts bad pulling a Miami would be the smart move.

Miami can't get the tanking thing right. They seem like a prime candidate every year but they always manage to get to 5 or 6 wins. And yet they're still in line to get Tua.

Maybe they're tanking for Trevor next season.

End of season PFF rankings for our CBs:

Macenzie Alexander: 67
Trae Waynes: 73
Holton Hill: 85
Mike Hughs: 129
Boyd: 169
Rhodes: 187

There are a total of 214 CBs ranked.

Can they all really be that bad? We don't even have one guy in the top 64? This is strange.

So why are the Vikings concerned about losing Alexander to FA? He is ranked as an average CB. Let him walk.

Stick Henry behind our line an see how that goes. Cook and Mattison duo just as good if not better.

Not sure if we have the money to fix defense so it will take a good draft.

Get an Offensive line!

I think part of the problem we have here is that the word Offensive has 2 different meanings and our front office is confusing the 2.

Sounds like they are going to promote our QB coach to OC... welcome to the big boys Klint Kubiak...

So while they are at it, they better get a new QB Coach that is better at running on the field with an oil can when the Tin Man freezes up...

Next year should be real interesting if it all goes as Zimmer wants in his head...

Point is good quarterback play from a franchise qb is going to give you the most shots at getting into the playoffs and winning a trophy. Sure a team like the Titans can go on a run in one postseason but I don't see them doing that long term. You're going to have to get something out of the qb when they start to shut down the run. I'm betting Tannehill is going to have to make some plays this week for them to win. Hopefully we can improve the line but I doubt it happens under this crew. We need to make some smart financial decisions this offseason. I'm sure once the season rolls around I'll be excited again at least for a while depending on how it goes. Sticking to the same formula we have been isn't going to change much imo.

IN Tannehills defense. He's been pretty damn good since he took over as starting QB there.

I haven't watched him much and he hasn't needed to do much the last 2 games that's for sure. Obviously if Henry is getting 8 yards on 1st down you can keep doing it till they stop it. I'd say that's extremely rare! I dont think Tannnehill will get by this week with less than 100 yards passing but who knows?

OL is a problem, but also the problem is magnified coupled with a statue at QB that gets easily rattled under pressure and is held tight by play calling has a propensity for holding the ball too long, limited scrambling ability and DESPISES playing on Mondays...

Never left... and Cousins being less than elite is still a thing as well... his play to close out the season was abysmal, sure throw him a lil bone for decent plays made in Saints game he started off slow, but without the running game working and Cook going off it would have likely looked much more like SF or GB games...

Right now. This offseaon, The following are currently available.

Brady, Brees, and Rivers.

Now. Do I think they will remain that way? NO. Do I think Cousins is going anywhere? NO.

All three of those guys are aging over the hill guys. The next wave his here, Mahomes, Jackson. We need to be looking for Cousins eventual replacement in the Draft.

I can bitch about whatever I want, its an absolute falsity on better QBs... take your pick... Case coupled with Flip may have worked, Tannehill or even a loser like Kaepernick could have been a gamble that paid off behind our OL.

We chose Kirky and he didn pay off, I get the gamble but it will end up proving to cost us. Thats the NFL and our talent eval from GM and regime felt Cousins was best bet...

I believed from the start they made a mistake and have been vocal about... many others believe the opposite and love Kirks overall numbers and flashy plays against bottom dweller teams...

Ying vs Yang... truth is likely a bit more in middle, Kirk is a decent QB in right system with right coaching... He isnt getting that here, so in end it will be another wasted window. Rather than quiz me on my eval on who should have been choice at QB maybe we should be asking our wise GM this...

Cousins is what Cousins is, and he's ours for at least this coming season. Complaining about him isn't going to help. He can make some sick ass throws, What he needs is protection. Our OLine needs drastic improvement in scheme and personel. The left side especially. for Cap reasons, I see Cousins getting a restrutured deal that counts less against the cap but gives him years.

Like him or not I don't think Cousins is leaving Minnesota any time soon.

There are going to be some tough decisions on some players this offseason. Rhodes, Griffin, Joseph, Waynes, Harris. Three will be restructured or traded/cut. The other two will either be let go or resigned. Our Oline needs upgrades. Can't let a three man rush beat you.

Zimmer should be on a hot seat now. If he gets to come back that should be the expectation. Make this team a real contender for the title. They cannot go 2-4 in their own division. They cannot go 0-2 vs the Packers, and 0-2 vs the Bears.

They need to figure out how to play from behind and still win. We have one real come from behind win in the past few years discounting the Miracle. They need to figure this shit out.

We were a team heavily invested in defense, with a defense minded HC and numbers to bear out that defense had gotten us to the NFCCG the year before.

After 2018 It seemed we needed a couple things to shore up like OL and DL inside linemen. A QB was on list but mid teir game manager is where I really thought they would look, honestly look what they did with a semi mobile Case Freaking Keenum who could think on his feet.

I really didnt see us neglecting/ underestimating talent on both lines (forgot Richardson signing that we really missed this year) and going all in on Cousins, coupled with hire of a OC in Flip month prior that was better suited to run an RPO type game plan with more mobile QB.

Cant put the nut back in the shell, and going forward its Kirk and company for 2020...

Fame or Flame... Its all on this regimes final fling...
