#Vikings coach Mike Zimmer on 2-2 start: "I know everybody jumped off the bandwagon this week. Two years ago, we were 2-2 and we won 13. Three years ago, we were 5-0 and we won eight. So this isn't going to define us where we are now.''

It's a true statement.

(although if I were Zimmer I'm not sure I would be reminding everybody about my wildly fluctuating team from season to season).

Exactly

Last year, we were 1-2-1 and went 7-5 and finished 8-7-1 and didn't make the playoffs

What the hell does Zimmer mean of the 2-2 start.

Maybe he should just shut the hell up.

I don't see this team going on a long winning streak.

Mike Zimmer of Kirk Cousins on Theilen statements apology

“He was probably just being nice,” Zimmer said regarding the apology, via Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. “Seriously, I’m not worried about it. Maybe he should get off the podcast.”

I hate the things Zimmer opens up his mouth and says... His pressers are becoming concerning on what he does and doesnt say, not just how he says it... The whole offering that he "doesnt recall" or repeated "I dont know" or "you would have to ask him (player)" is making him look very disconnected and inept at seeing whats happening on game days...

So Keenum is coming back.

I was exactly thinking that, we are bringing in a TYPE A gunslinger to save his ass and the season as in 2017?

Still stand by the semi desperate to crazy idea of bringing in Sloter off Cards practice squad and giving him Mannions contract and spot... Let Kirk sit and watch if he actually flames out in NY this next Sunday...

If Cousins is removed for the starting role Zimmer and Speilman both know they are done after the season, that's why I expect nothing.

Jones was horrible last year. If he was better this preseason, maybe (or maybe not, true) it's because he's a vet reserve playing against young guys and/or guys who can't actually play in the league. Bradbury obviously has some issues, but he does good things, particularly in the run game, too. One of the best things about the Patriots is that they use the early part of the regular season to actually get better. Even as critical as I've been of the OLine over the years, I think it's likely they will improve significantly over the course of this season; whether they improve enough, soon enough remains to be seen. Bradbury should get better this year and next year; replacing him with a bad player won't help that process.

Feels like we are an eternal "Work in Progress" at certain skill set positions that hold the entire rest of the team back, regime after regime... Its the Viking way I guess...

Victims everywhere.

I personally like a nice happy medium, a Ying / Yang type atmosphere in here where the pro and con people "debate" all the viewpoints...

Unfortunately when something swings to one direction so hard its tough for even the most optimistic Pro posters to find ground amongst the "Haters" it takes a little time for things to calm and even back out...

Fortunately this team has another 500 season written all over it, so there will be games that swing us all back to center or even on the rah rah side if we are fortunate enough to see things get righted...

Predict we will manage a win at NY with enough for us all to hang our hat on some good and some bad and next week will be all hugs and agreement in here....

I can’t speak for Trekgeekscott but, no its not about going to the dogs. I think most posters are frustrated with Zimmer and Cousins, with some, that frustration has boiled over and there is no discussion. Only complaint.

Big deal. Everybody has their opinion.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was on the practice field Wednesday, running and cutting 10 days after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Coach Pat Shurmur would not rule out Barkley for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, although it is highly unlikely he plays.

Barkley worked on the side field with a trainer while his teammates practiced. "I don't know yet. I don't know yet," Shurmur said when given the opportunity to rule out his star running back for this week.
Barkley is not expected to play, according to multiple sources. His eyes are on the following week, when the Giants visit the New England Patriots on Thursday night.

It's like we're watching him turn into Brad Childress.

The only difference as far as I can tell is Zimmer got punked in the championship game. Childress had a better qb Zimmer had a better overall roster imo. Both too stubborn for their own good.

Jones was horrible last year. If he was better this preseason, maybe (or maybe not, true) it's because he's a vet reserve playing against young guys and/or guys who can't actually play in the league.

Jones didn't play well in two and a half games last year. The prior year (2017), PFF gave him their 3rd highest pass-blocking grade for a center (83.2) as a 13-game starter. Giants got rid of him to clear cap space.

PFF is meaningless.

We gave the Giants a 7th rd pick for Jones (or he would have been released). That was his veteran worth to us and the Giants.

Jones stunk it up in the three games he played last year. Then he backed up Elflein who had a terrible season. It's not like Jones played or practiced well enough to get another shot.

Then we released him in Sept. We resigned him a week later but that is not the path you take when a team values your starting potential.

He's an emergency backup.
