Here are some details about the trade. I actually think it was an ugly trade for both teams. Lots of dead money for the Rams.

https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2020/4/9/21215748/brandin-cooks-trade-rams-salary-cap-contract-texans

Watson is a MUCH BETTER QB than Goff. Cooks could have a resurgence.

He probably will to some degree... but do you trade Hopkins for Cooks?
Not me.

No, but don't forget they don't have to pay Hopkins and they got a washed up overpaid RB in the deal. Or they could have done nothing and used the money they now have to pay Johnson to pay Hopkins.

Cooks to Texans

Do trades start heating up now with 2 weeks left before Draft?

O'Brien is such an idiot...8 Million to a player with 5 concussions...he is 5' 9".....Probably 4-5 WR at that 2nd pick available that are better. The fast Penn St. kid is the same player, Hamler. 5'9" blazing speed....watch the Rams draft him.

Hamler can't catch, though. Read any profile and that's a prominent feature. He just doesn't have the hands.

If I remember Cooks having the dropsies also...

Hamler is a smaller version of Troy Williamson. If you're going to pick a Big Ten receiver, I would take Tyler Johnson every day of the week on twice on Sundays over Hamler.

I hadn't heard about Hamler having bad hands, but I haven't looked into him much yet. I'm willing to bet he has a much better career than Williamson. He's fast, but not as fast as Williamson. Williamson was Ruggs type fast.

That is the knock on him. That and his small size. To me he seems more as a kickoff return guy (I wouldn't trust him with punts) and gadget plays. I guess we had a guy like that here who just got himself awarded as the special team player of the decade. (Patterson) Here's a highlight video. A lot of them are kickoff return highlights.

I never come away from reading about Reagor feeling encouraged about his prospects, but he always seems to show up high in the rankings. Drops, weak production in a weak conference defensively...he sounds like a good kid and a hard worker so I want to like him more, but he SOUNDS an echelon below Jefferson, Mims, Aiyuck, even Pittman. But who knows?

Everybody who's seen him play says he is open on almost every play. His production was fine the year before when he had an OK QB. The freshman running QB has been a disaster. Drops aren't really a problem. He drops a few and he makes some amazing catches. Ruggs had very little production. Nobody is downgrading him for that.

I was wondering why his production dropped.

Unless they trade up, the Rams aren't going to have a 1st round pick for five straight drafts

I'm too lazy to check if that's a record, but it's probably a record.

(Mike Renner on Twitter)

He amended that the Redskins once went 7 years straight during the George Allen days.

Jaylon Johnson could be the guy at CB.

TCU WR Jalen Reagor saw a catchable pass on just 61.4% of targets.

That ranked 118th among 120 wideouts. https://t.co/GH4bFH32Xy

Reagor is becoming one of my picks at either (Preferably 25)

If we don't get the speedy receiver early, perhaps we get one later with the second receiver taken. This one would fit the bill. He was the number four receiver at LSU, so he didn't get much opportunity to shine. Of course LSU had two receivers who will be first round draft picks.

Don’t sleep on Damon Armette to the Vikings in the 1st. He’s a Zimmer type of boundary corner. Physical in press, disciplined, rarely out of phase, willing tackler against the run.

CBs have to be able to muscle WRs into sidelines or they won’t survive there. Arnette can do that.

(Brett Kollmann on Twitter)

Ludford says it makes sense, except not in the first round.

This one has a diagram, so I will just link the tweet. It's about a comparison with Mims and Treadwell.

Here's a summary of the Texans trade activity for the last couple of years or so. It doesn't seem to me that they know what they are doing.

There is no comparison. Tee Higgins there is comparison.

Never trust Pro Day 40 times, but adding the usual 1/10th second he's running somewhere in the 4.3s.

Tee Higgins and Treadwell, you mean. I agree. Still, I thought it was interesting.

An even more interesting comparison might be Mims and Reagor. Those two guys are not the same by any means. Mims is taller and Reagor is probably faster. They are both fast. It's a good question over who to choose between the two of them.

Unless we trade up for one of the Big 3 (Ruggs, Lamb, Jeudy), the only 1st round WRs for us are probably Jefferson or Reagor.

If we do have a trade with Willliams in our back pocket, do you still draft an offensive lineman in the first round? Perhaps for the center guard out of Michigan? Or would you double up on cornerbacks? (If Jefferson and Reagor are gone)

We need inside help and Ruiz does fit that but I don't think he is a 1st rd pick
