what the points board say

I'm interested to know this as well

But not interested enough to do the work

rick got beat out of 20 points of value....

The extra picks and a player at 31 that he may have taken at 25 beats 20 points on a spreadsheet.

That was the JJ chart right? I haven't been able to find the new one....

With the niners without of a 3rd rounder - I'm still very happy with the trade. I think we got our guy at 31.

The one I saw had us losing by 30 points.

Zimmer said that we tried to trade up for Jefferson, and then we get him at #22 anyway...if gladney can play man up coverage his size won't matter and he's supposed to be though...our cb's were giving wr's way too much space last year - gladney could help with that....

Benches 400; squats 600. Is he a Cb or DT? WOW.

Just because a board says so, it doesn’t make it a bad trade. It’s very situational. If you only want to move down x spots and still be able to get your man, maybe those teams below you aren’t motivated to trade. Or don’t have the picks to trade. So take whatever you can get.

So after drafting Jefferson; would you rather have Diggs at 14 million or Jefferson on a rookie deal?

One site that loved our first round:

https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2020/4/24/21233467/2020-nfl-draft-grades-first-round-every-pick-best-worst

This was a big point for me:

But Jefferson’s game lends itself to playing more on the outside than he did in college.

Jamal Adams....1st round pick (#6 in 2017), safety. Would count 3.5 million against the cap this year. Still on rookie contract.

The trade value chart is based on past drafts, but it's clear that there was less trade activity last night. I don't know if it was because how everything was dependent on technology rather than having a host of assistants in the room, but I do believe that there was less eagerness to pay the full price for moving up. Just as interest rates can fluctuate and stock prices can go up and down, I think we should give Spielman credit for adjusting for the prevailing conditions. The bottom line was that he got value for trading down and still getting the player he was probably coveting at #25. The only pick that was a possible snipe was the selection of the Auburn CB the pick before. At the very least I don't believe there was a significant level between the two. Of course, in the end we'll have to see how they do, but regardless, my sense is that Gladney was the one they wanted all along.

Googled him and he wants out of NY because he wants to get paid.

If we're going to pay a S big money might as well pay Ant Harris vs giving up draft stock to pay Adams.

Yes but I believe he is 5 years younger.

This is good to see. It seems that the Vikings really did covet Jefferson.

I think it would probably be too steep of a price to trade up for jones at this point. He could well be the first one off the board tonight as that Cinn needs to think about protecting Burrow.

probably stand pat or a small trade up and nab Cleveland followed by getting Hunt or biadazz in rd 3

then get and edge guy, S, and more cb's

still like to get a utility guy like Gibson in there as well and possibly Tyler johnson

so many needs/wants

You won't find a cornerback in the draft class more battle tested down the football field than Gladney. We just worry about how he'll pass those tests with more physical receivers in the NFL.

79.5% tight coverage on throws 10+ yards downfield since 2018
Allowed 10 of 46 contested completions last two seasons
0 TDs allowed on short-yardage throws last season

Gladney lacks ideal size/bulk for the position, but he excels because of his blend of quickness and feistiness. He plays outside and inside. He is at his best in off coverage, where he uses a quick, fluid pedal before efficiently planting and driving on balls thrown in front of him. He doesn't waste steps. He is always in good position, but will get walled off at times by bigger wideouts. When he does press, he usually sits at 2 yards and carries his hands low before trying to catch wideouts and re-route them. His overall ball awareness is very good. He does a good job coming to balance before tackling runners and he's also an effective blitzer. Gladney needs to get a little stronger, but I love his scheme versatility and toughness.

Who is that from (getting stronger)? He benches 400 lbs, squats 600 lbs (which is more impressive than many DT)?

This shows the value of our picks going forward. (According to a "more modern revised version". What's interesting to me is that we have at least two picks in each round except the second. I'm sure that will change before all is said and done.

Rotoworld has Gladney ranked as their 92nd ranked prospect and they offer these comments:

23yo TCU CB, 25th percentile athlete

And Ledyard has him ranked as the 32nd prospect. Actually, pretty close to where we got him.

I’m worried about how Gladney got pushed around in certain spots last season, but it certainly wasn’t for lack of effort. He competes at a high level and finds the football extremely well. He’s got freakishly long arms for a 5-foot-10 corner too, which will help.

If you are allegedly recovering from a torn meniscus... ya might want to ease up a bit on this 600 pound squat lifting...

And lastly Daniel House had Gladney as his 26th ranked prospect. I haven't read any comments yet from him, but I'm sure he will be doing so on Twitter.

Edit: Wait. I just found this from House:

http://www.mnvikingscorner.com/2020/04/analysis-justin-jefferson-and-jeff.html

The interesting comment was to see that Gladney may be on the shorter side, but he has longer arms.

"in the 67th percentile for arm length..."
