Justin Jefferson said he can play equally well in slot and on the outside. "I've been playing outside all my life until last year.''

This comment by Jeff Gladney will make #Vikings coach Mike Zimmer feel good. He said of his TCU tenure, "I knew the playbook like the back of my hand.''

CB draftee Jeff Gladney said he's the "perfect fit" for the #Vikings and wants to make Mike Zimmer "proud'' of drafting him.

CB Jeff Gladney thought he was going to get drafted by the #Vikings at No. 22 or 25. When the Vikings traded the No. 25 pick, he said he got a little bit "antsy" but still thought he might be drafted by them.

#Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said Jeff Gladney is similar to some CBs he has had but didn't want to offer specific comparisons. When I asked him if Terence Newman is a good comparison, he at least said, "Maybe.''

#Vikings No. 31 pick Jeff Gladney will get an estimated four-year, $10.99 million salary, including a $5.55 million signing bonus, and to have a 2020 cap number of $1.99 million. He will have a fifth-year contract option.

Regarding that last quote, I am wondering how much trading back for Gladney impacted the salary cap for the Vikings.

Overall, I give the Vikings a "B" on day one. I like Jefferson, but I would have liked to see them move up to get Lamb if they were going to go WR.

After watching film, I like Aiyuk more than Jefferson. The kid looks like an absolute game-changer. Having said that, LSU is a pretty good place to get a WR in recent years.

Gladney fills a need.

I'm okay with day one. Now, get some offensive linemen or I'm going to be pissed!

Packers draft was a bit puzzling. Maybe it's just me, but I see Aaron Rodgers playing quarterback for a few more years. I like Love, but Rodgers is one of the smartest and most accurate quarterbacks in the game. I thought they had a ton of needs they didn't address. Quarterback is not their problem, and hasn't been for over 25 years.

Apparently so. That, or he is going to have a huge chip on his shoulder in 2020 and play his ass off.

That was the JJ chart right? I haven't been able to find the new one....

With the niners without of a 3rd rounder - I'm still very happy with the trade. I think we got our guy at 31.

The one I saw had us losing by 30 points.

Just because a board says so, it doesn’t make it a bad trade. It’s very situational. If you only want to move down x spots and still be able to get your man, maybe those teams below you aren’t motivated to trade. Or don’t have the picks to trade. So take whatever you can get.

I'm just giving the number. It worked out beautifully.

The extra picks and a player at 31 that he may have taken at 25 beats 20 points on a spreadsheet.

Read here those extra picks were a 4th and the league is ironing out the other one... maybe a 5th or 6th....

OK, I found the 2020 draft pick value chart on the cbs draftsite:

Pick # 25 = 201.4

Picks #31 + #117 + #176 = 173.66 + 20.06 + 6.18 = 199.9

Are we all happy now or do some people want to keep grinding that Spielman came up 1.5 points short?

My biggest issue with Jefferson is that he doesn't seem to be a "stretch-the-field" sort of guy. We need a burner on the outside, otherwise teams are going to pack it in and make things difficult.

I liked when one of the analysts compared him to Keenan Allen. Love Keenen Allen. One of the best-kept secrets in the NFL. Maybe the best route-runner in the NFL.

Read Gladney has a 80 inch wing span, so he can challenge taller receivers.

Quick twitch. He might literally be 5 times quicker than Rhodes was last year.

Jefferson wasn't deployed in that role as a senior. He has reasonably good speed and is a good route runner. He looks to me to be a guy who can get separation down field.

On those Burrow highlights showing the tight windows, I saw Jefferson catching it in those tight windows in traffic. Doesn't make him All-Pro, just saying.

I think Jefferson looks like a smooth route runner with very good speed 4.43. If I remember right Shades ran a 4.45.

The thing I like most about Jefferson is that he might be the best route runner in the draft and has great ball skills (some mentioned Cris Carter skills). Now I still suggest we grab a burner/KR (Hamler) and/or Tyler Johnson later in the draft.

You have Shades,Jefferson,Johnson/Hamler, Sharpe, Bisi.....you can mix and match and very dangerous.
