ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen What about G though? I think a trade for Thuney makes more sense than trading for Williams... Reiff is still solid if not great...we need interior line... if we could trade for Thuney...not sure for what, but that helps the line tremendously... Maybe a multi team trade where Harris goes somewhere and our compensation for him gives us fodder for the Thuney trade Just running ideas... I would give up our second and a third next year for Thuney. Oneil/Thuney/Bradbury/Samia or Collins/Udoh. I like that line a lot. You would go into the season with Samia at RG and Collins or Udoh at RT? That has disaster written all over it – regardless of what the coaches think. Not only are they almost completely unproven but Collins has not stayed healthy. Hill makes more sense than either Udoh or Collins until they prove they are ready ... and Hill is not a long term answer, he is strong in a part-time roll. Regardless of what coaches think? Again I don't know what Kubiak and Dennison think of the internal players. Zimmer has hinted they believe they have developed a lot and may be options/in play. Hill has been productive especially on the left side and is a reasonable back up plan. We also have Jones and Dozier as back up options. An open competition would hopefully be in play. All draft picks are completely unproven until they play. If Williams with the time off is a big question mark. We were ranked 27th against the pass last year. I don't think it would be improve on that. Just my opinion. Yeah weird, I don't take football coaches projections as scripture. Hill, Dozier and Jones are not starters on a decent Oline – they are valuable as back-ups with experience, especially Hill. Samia, Udoh, and fragile Collins are developmental guys that may or may not be ready for more playing time. Its a big jump for Kubiak / Dennison / Nostradamus to declare them as our starting RG and RT. Which they haven't done yet by the way. So, again, we will draft the magical starters THIS year, as opposed to the last two to three years? If there is no confidence in anyone, then let's trade for Williams and or Thuney and quit pussyfooting around. I'm down w/ that. Get a proven commodity at T and I think we'll be okay. You could do way worse than an O-line of Williams, Samia, Bradbury, Elflein, and O' Neill.
