It was better than SOS' deak that went in to the left corner as his body veered off in to the right.......

To his credit. It was pretty successful given that every organic lifeform in the universe knew it was coming.

Got a point but it was a pretty 'meh' game. We, somehow, didn't have our legs.

Wes Walz made a pretty good observation, last night, that the top line has lapsed into a bad habit where Rask and Zuccarello are staying out in the open ice in the offensive zone and forcing Kaprizov to play down low. They're negating the strongest part of our best players game.

Yeap. To a fault Kap is too responsible in his D duties. It's a credit to him but we can't deploy him that way and waste his O.

This is very true also, but Wes was talking about Kaprizov being forced to play behind the net when the Wild are in the offensive zone.

It can be hard for offense heavy players to naturally drop and play D. Federov was the best I've ever seen at it.

Great news, Matthew Boldy signed his entry level deal with the Wild. He reports to Iowa immediately. With any luck, hell force his way up here before the playoffs.

That won't happen.
No way the Wild blow the first year of his entry level contract for a few games this year. He is not a "Kaprizov," we will get by without him this season.
They will let him get a taste of pro hockey down in Iowa and earn his playing time.

From all reports I read after posting this, it looks like I am wrong.
At least he isn't eligible for the expansion draft, unless of course we dangle him in order to keep Dumba.

The first year is plowed whether he plays here or in Iowa. Kaprizov was signed and paid for last season at the end of last season even though the league would not allow him to play.

Yeah, I know you walked it back but I'm not sure Boldy doesn't make the roster at some point this year. Say what you will about Guerin. He's not afraid of bold (pun intended) moves.

If he can win over 50% of faceoffs he has a spot for sure. Not likely since he is a winger, but that is a skillset badly missing on this team.

I think Boldy is a center. At least he played center for Team USA.

We sucked again last night for the most part. Big one tonight. We need to get going again before it's too late.

Put Kaprizov and Fiala together. This team needs a jolt.

Agree. Nothing to lose at this point and Fiala is in a funk. He's too gifted to be a disappearing act so often.

I haven't seen either of the last 2 games and it sounds like a good thing.
Maybe Guerin will end up making some moves at the deadline after all. Moving on from a vet and bringing in a young kid like Boldy may help shake things up more than just shuffling the chairs on the deck.
I hope they get it together in time for the next game at a reasonable time to watch them. The last period of hockey I watched them play they were getting schooled by St Louis and it wasn't fun to watch at all.

Remember when we all loved Dom Moore? Hard worker, bad situation with his wife??? He can bite it. Just entered spot 1 on my list of “most hated former athlete turned announcer” dude.

He just said the kid “reminds me of Brad Marchant”. WTF you hateful ahole? Nobody on earth deserves that.

Cam stole that one for us.
Outstanding!
Tuch gets away with a bunch of clutching and hooking.
Ek gets called for being hooked into Knight’s Tender...
Too bad Bonino and Greenway couldn’t convert at end of regulation and keep Vegas from a point.
But we’ll take it!
Finally some puck luck for Fiala in SO!

All well put. Talbot was sensational. I love the way Evanson is calling out the team for putting him that position. We were horrible with the puck all night. If we Dubnyk in net that thing would have been over 1 minute and 13 seconds in to the game.

The partial break away that Fiala was just interfered with is one of the most egregious non-calls I’ve ever seen. Wow 😳

Sounds like Tuch is starting to make a living getting away with shit like that. Oh well. The good guys won.

And the best part is he is still getting better each year. It appears we have a #1 center growing in front of our eyes.
Get a couple more guys like him and we are set up the middle for years.

Really happy that Evason has assembled 2/3 of the line I am waiting to see. I think Ek is a great fit with Kaprizov. Talented offensive player, diligent defensive player and just enough of an asshole to give the line some edge. Now just get Fiala on that line and enjoy the show.

If this proves to be true, then it only took our franchise 21 years to produce one.
