Yes, Mond!

I much preferred Davis Mills. I hope I'm wrong.

NFL comparison for Mills is Cousins.

Hamsah Nasirildeen is still out there. He could fill a role on our defense.

From Simms:

Kellen Mond
@TheKellenMond
is my #4 QB in this class. He's a machine throwing the ball, as pure and consistent a thrower as anyone in this class. Explosive arm. He's a Top 20 pick who someone is going to get in Day 2.

I wonder if the pick of Trask alerted Spielman that there may be a run on QBs, forcing his hand?

Mond looked really good in highlights.

Is Mond short for Monday ?

Will there be Monday morning QBing now, after Cousins blows a game ?

USA Today had an article regarding Trask, Mond and Mills. They were quite underwhelmed with all three.

I almost now wish Cousins, like Rodgers, would start saying he wanted out of Minnesota.

I respect Simms a lot. If he likes him that makes me feel better about the pick.

I hope Davis isn't sniped from us. Might need a small trade up here. I was hoping for him when Mond was picked. I'm thrilled we got Mond, as he has a chance to be very good. I didn't even dare consider it a possibility, unless it was later in the draft. Simms has done well rating QBs recently.

Ally McBeal picked by Detoilet.

Yes, it came up on the screen after the pick and also during his televised pro day.

I've watched a ton of A&M games and was really underwhelmed by Mond early on. He's picked it up over the last season and a half, though and his accuracy has gotten considerably better. He had a bad habit of being a little too geeked up and overthrowing receivers w/ that cannon. Jimbo Fisher did some good work w/ him towards the end.
I really like where we got him. He's a bit of a late bloomer who could stand to sit a season (or two), but has all the skills to be a starter. We'll see. I'm optimistic.
