We could have had Jamar Johnson and Trey Smith before going into 7th round mode.

from espn

Kene Nwangwu Iowa State
6'1"210 lbs
Nwangwu is an explosive kickoff returner with excellent top-end speed, good open-field instincts and some toughness. He runs hard and has some upside as a back, but he didn't play a big role on offense -- 150 career touches -- and he caught just seven passes over the course of his college career.

Camryn Bynum California
6'0"196 lbs
Bynum has good size and longer arms but doesn't possess top-end speed. He's at his best in zone coverage due to his instincts. He excels at understanding route combinations. Bynum is an above-average tackler in run support and after the catch.

We took a CB as well.

‘Scouts rave about the personal character of Bynum, but concerns over his athletic ability and speed are very real. Despite his time as a press corner, his poor recovery speed and inability to match NFL receivers in man coverage will likely pigeonhole him into a zone-heavy scheme or force him to flip to safety.’

Yep. Looks the part though, very coordinated.

At this point, just draft offensive linemen. If we are lucky, one of them turns out to be a player. Running backs and wide receivers are a dime a dozen.

That's because it is late round stabs. Once you hit the fourth or fifth round, it's all about getting lucky with one pick.

Seems right though as he lacks speed but is instinctive.

We need a G to challenge Davis and a WR to challenge Beebe.

Nowadays a 4.5 is nothing. Many LBs are running in the 4.6 range. Boils down to the proverbial football speed, right?

The chances of sticking drop down from the 3rd to the 4th, of course. As from every rd.

But there are still some good players, based on tape, production- and consensus opinion, on the 4th rd board.

The RB is a 7th rd pasta noodle flung up against the wall to see what happens in camp.

Bynum sounds like an Anthony Harris type. Not elite physical traits but super instinctive. Team captain with 35 pass breakups is impressive.

Our special teams were horrific last year. Nwangwu looks like the guy they think can fix that with his speed as a returner and probably on the coverage team as well. 4th round pick seems high but if he’s a difference maker then it’s a good pick.

Running backs are a dime a dozen. Unless you get the one or two guys early, they are just guys. Easiest position on the field to replace after an injury.

Saints just drafted Ian Book. Tells me they aren't real comfortable with either Winston or Hill. And for good reason.
