I actually wish the birthday list would disappear altogether. We used to have that big banner when a birthday hit, and I'm glad that's gone too.

It's not that I'm a birthday Scrooge. It's just that there is a certain obligatory factor in people feeling like they need to post a birthday wish, when for most of us we're just happy to share the day with family, and maybe a piece of cake. And the list also creates a bit of a popularity contest, albeit unintentionally.

Meh.. older people get tired of being reminded..

Birthdays are for the under 30 set like kids, teens and 20-something’s who need the feeling of accomplishment and recognition…and mile stones like decade “achievements”…30, 40, 50,…. Etc
