I'm relieved the Wilf bros dumped the snake oil salesman Spielman.

If they wanted change he had to go as well.

Is Minnesota culture fear based? We have been programed over so many years to expect the worst. I don't think he's wrong.

He's talking about an organization owned/operated by non-Minnesotans.

Kendricks “I don’t think a fear-based organization is the way to go”

whoa

What does that even mean?

People held accountable = fear based?

He's referring to Zim

Watched the video. Understand the context now.

Anyone read Zimmer's daughters message to fans and "fans".

Just the bestestatest coach in the history of the sport who faced more challenges than anyone only to persevere (2 playoff wins persevering)

Dear Daughter

Many other NFL teams deal with injuries and illnesses

and thrive

There needs to be more context in Kendricks' statement.

From an outsider's perspective, the Zimmer reign had countless examples of throwing people under the bus. He was the epitome of people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Alas, he was simply a great example of the Peter Principle.

But fear-based to Joe Bag O' Donuts? Please. How many here have clamored for fining or suspending players? Or cutting them?

You want a softie? Maybe we'll get Leslie Frazier II. You'll be singing a different tune 1/2 season in demanding 'discipline', 'accountability', and crap like "Light a fire under their arse!"

Just saying.

Spielman exits with class Zimmer's just an ass.

The guy was looked over forever and then given 8 years and failed.

Frazier perfected the art of having the DBs sag off 10 yards.

So many possibilities.

I hope that even if the new GM wants to work with Cousins that they draw a line. The guy is richer than most could dream of being...not won anything, and can make a pretty penny still, but we're not holding the franchise hostage with another bad contract.

Perhaps the guy they choose is only about rectifying the situation by shipping him and moving on.

Exciting times.

I don't think Kirk understands or could be made to understand that it would be beneficial to take less money. The guy is on cameo.com for crying out loud. He'll do a recorded message for $400 and even worse, he has the indicator on his profile that he gets the recorded messages out regularly in under 24 hours. I'm surprised he finds the time for this and, to be honest, is using his time to make an extra $400 here and there.

That might seem trivial but if he averages 24 of these a week that’s a half million dollars of income. True that’s still a small percentage of his contract salary, but it’s a significant amount.

If I could do two of these a week, with my pension, I could live above my means.

Good for him!

Whew, glad the Wilf's are on it.

The Wilf's are still doing their 'due diligence' (finding enough dirt so they don't have to use blindfolds, plastic ties or car batteries).

Here ya go, Dan & Todd - nothing to worry about:

So, what happens with Kirk Cousins now?

I can tell you this... There is *zero* chance a new GM/coach combo walks in and says, "Let's extend him for 3 years and attach our careers to Kirk Cousins."

So, he's getting traded.

It could be something as little as “Hey, how are you doing?” in the hallway or feeling like guys walking by in the hallway and they say ‘hello how are you doing? Good morning.’ We spend so much time together and the season is so long that little personal things here or there could make a big difference for a young guy or even a rookie that’s coming in and isn’t really sure how he fits, if he belongs. Little different personal things like that because guys play their best when they feel good about themselves and their role within a team. The more we can cultivate a culture that guys feel good about being themselves and they’re important to the team and everybody’s in this together. And when young players start to learn that earlier on, they start to do better, and that everybody’s behind us and all of our successes and all of our failures go together. The more that we can understand as players and coaches that we’re all in this together, I think we’d go a long way to making this a better place. - Brian O’Neill
