ORIGINAL: Todd M Worked hard. Besides endorsing him I doubt there's much to that I'm with you, but you never know.... I believe Stafford is a better QB than Cousins when it matters most, in crunch-time and on the fly ... BUT Stafford's overall won-loss record – which is a very poor indicator [there's nothing out there that tells the whole story] – is much worse ... albeit with the Lions. It would NOT be hard for me to imagine O'Connell thinking he personally coached Stafford out of a sub-par career and into a SB winning QB, also thinking he could do the same with Cousins ... I myself don't see it happening for Cousins for several reasons ... but it will be interesting to get that first real clue whether KOC is planning to ride KC for one year / more years / not at all. It's kinda of funny to me that I think this the first time I've ever heard of anyone referencing Stafford's record as a QB - and because like you said at the end of the sentence, "albeit with the Lions." And that makes sense! For Kirk you can't say: he couldn't even call a TO or he'd feel the wrath from the old school, reference revolving door of weak ass OCs, a defense that lets Det drive the field and take a win away from him, and another loss due to a missed fg, but he wasn't ahead by enough so it was still his fault, a fumble that wasn't and I'm sure there's more but it doesn't matter, cause it's ... well you know ;) But it is true, that contract is a bugger ... - and I'm getting tired of pointing out that if only Cousins had a decent team ... who can I tag? Also ... two QBs play well for two bad teams ... they have poor winning percentages. QB 1 gets moved to a new team that will spare no expense to buy a SB. And he wins it all! QB 2 plays out his franchise hostaging contract and then moves to South America where he assumes there are no Egyptians and he starts a huarache manufacturing operation. The difference? Even on bad teams, QB 1 is considered very good under pressure ... even top ten all-time for game winning drives in some rankings. Even on one of the worst franchises in football. QB 2 is considered statistically good but he can never seem to make enough positive plays to overcome the negative plays that he and his cohorts keep shooting themselves in the foot with. This has been consistently true over ten years.
