Trade Cousins for a 2023 1st. Trade down for another.

The #1 or #2 pick would be obtainable and not painful.

that's how i see it, load up for a QB move next draft/'23 - that is, if mond doesn't pan out...and if he does, we do a monster draft reload with five picks in the first two rounds....

i can't imagine that kwesi and o'connell are going to want to hitch their wagon to a guy they hope will play like he's never played before in 10 years of professional football...cousins is not a leader, he crumbles in the pocket, drops the ball, throws the ball out of bounds with no time left - wow, i can't believe that I'm even typing this - he sits on the bench all alone...wears socks with sandals, won't help the team with financial squeeze, money, money, money, money -- money....

phuck, man...let him go and give the rock to the kid....

of course we'll pick up a solid journeyman - what about keenum?...that guy brought us to the nfccg for $2m....

i would bet that cousins has never called an audible in this life - high school, college, NFL - he doesn't trust himself to know what to call - the only audible he knows is 'check-down to RB'....

It's a very good statement / point.

I think they're happy to have him from a skill / continuity standpoint.

Can't imagine they want to pay a league high salary beyond this year if its not for a top player at the position.

They may or may not ride with it this season but they have to be putting their own pieces in place moving forward.

I doubt there is anything to any rumor right now.

The new people are still ordering their Vikings wardrobe and searching zillow.

If Cousins had a two or three yr contract in the 30M-32M range I think you could move him for a decent return.

Under his current deal, people might be helping themselves by improving their QB situation for one year but who is going to give up decent capital for a 45M QB who is more monk than gamer?

Who wants to negotiate a longer extension with the Big Fella when he clearly favors 1 yr deals for Cousins?

[congratulate me, I didn't bring up the Egyptians] [oops]

I'm sorry but Cousins is just a whacky package ... not because he's deeply religious but because of how he promotes / speaks to that belief system, IMO.

Character matters to NFL teams, I'm not sure hairshirts and footsy pajamas do.

I think the new team's cap hit would be 35M. Still not very appealing.

I'm guessing we would chip in on some salary.

I think our dead cap hit would still be 10M.

Ian says Kyler Murray wants 50M per on new contract.

I'm officially off the Kyler Murray bandwagon.

That's insane.

The team controls him for two more years (assuming they pick up the 5th year option) after that they can franchise tag him once fairly painlessly.

He has no ground to stand on unless he is will to walk away from football.

He isn't the type of person you want as your QB if he is squawking like this already, having accomplished so little.

Hard no on Murray, at any price.

Not a leader and another QB I don't think will ever win a Super Bowl.

I'd love to have Murray but I'd want him when he was drafted not when he's a couple seasons away from being really expensive. I want our QB to be one we draft so we get him for five seasons on the cheap.

I just want a QB who doesn't get his contract advice from God.

I agree Murray may not be helpful at this point if he's demanding that kind of money.

Draft a good young QB in next years draft. If we don't hit, rinse and repeat until you do, if you hit you have 80% of the requirement to make a SB run. Every other position can be found relatively easy while your QB is on a team friendly contract.

Carolina could trade their first round pick (#6) to the Vikings for Kirk Cousins.

The Vikings could then trade that pick and their first rounder (#12) to Seattle for Russ Wilson.

Still a big contract.

And his play has fallen off.

Murray know his body isn’t going to hold up.

That’s why he can’t wait until year 6.

Had a hand injury that hampered him greatly this year. and the fact that he's even "available" says that he's not happy in Seattle.

He should have asked before forking his team in the playoffs by throwing the worst pick6 of the decade.

Everybody sees KC’s contract and how well he does in high value games, and wants the same kind of deal..

Seems like a lot of others on our favorite team screwed the pooch in high value games last year - why is that never factored into the hate? ... hmmm
