The three-and-outs were a tough struggle to overcome and keep a high level of enthusiasm. There was possibly also just a cumulative effect of seeing the same tired shit. Trading back for multiple day-3 picks that were never going to crack the roster, rarely if ever playing rookies, dropping back into the MOAP (Mother-Of-All-Prevent) defense <credit to that youtube guy, Thom Skee> anytime we had a lead, allowing crucial third-and-longs to be converted, etc...............................................

Holy moly did I despise the Spielman/Zimmer era.

I'm underwhelmed so far by the KAM/KOC start, but my main source of hope is that they aren't the old guys.

agreed

adding Kirk to the Zim/Spiels problem was the proverbial Straw that broke....

I was fine with going for Kirk after the keenum year

The extension was horrific and everyone deserved to be fired for it...

This new extension feels like a Wilf request....i have no idea...

I am willing to see what happens with a different coaching staff, but I have my doubts

That's absolutely where I'm at too. Maybe our roster is great and the coaching was terrible? Maybe we just needed to make those mid-round picks and not trade back?

Oh no am I in the amnesia phase that Brad Hoiseth talks about? Shit I think I am.

I am willing to give them a bit of time to grow into their new positions...i hope they do even more house cleaning after the draft

not sure what the Wilfs are mandating from them, but over the next year or two the Wilfs need to get out of the way

I'm wondering how well Harrison Smith will be able to adapt to the 3-4 defense.

#Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said Patrick Peterson texted him the other day (he wants to re-sign). Said the conversations with him are ongoing about whether he'll return but Vikings must "respect" the salary cap.

Not a bad idea outside of then we need a Safety:

Purple FTW! Podcast
@PurpleForTheWin
Camryn Bynum was a very solid corner at Cal and it was the previous regime's idea to move him to safety. I think he would thrive in a Honey Badger type role playing safety, slot, and corner as the matchups dictate.

a gm always has to be aware of the future....

for the vikings i see a two-year plan with cousins, a quarterback draft in 2023, and then we'll just see how that two-year plan has developed....

Market it? How about in football terms? Or a blueprint to win the SB will do.

Dude's full of today's flowery terms that are often just mumbo-jumbo substitutes for smarts, a concrete plan, and decisiveness.

I am surprised by the direction the Vikings went, I was hoping they would get a haul for Cousins.

It's true you can somewhat keep pushing things down the road, maybe the Vikes will have sort of a Rams' roster pre-Stafford in 2 years, where they can then make a trade for a decent FA QB ? Or it's the QB they draft early next year or the following draft ?

Matt Ryan was traded for a 3rd pick. Hunter hasn’t played any games so is it possible the trade market wasn’t good for our most likely chips?

ZSmith deal:
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/03/24/inside-the-zadarius-smith-deal/

I would say that is a great contract for the Vikes.
Hope Z earns every penny.
