ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen It's settled, Cousins is a "good" quarterback. And $81,166,668 to play for the next two years is, apparently, "good" money. I also like statements like that which come w/o alternatives. Cousins is tied for the 9th highest paid QB in the league. The QB's right behind him and making almost as much money are Jared Goff and Carson Wentz. It's the market rate for a QB like Cousins. Some people can't get over it. The eight-figure amount of dead money he will get to not play football puts him higher, and distances him from your cherry-picked two QBs signed by directionless teams. Cherry picked? They were the next two guys on the list. The Vikings have 7 players on the payroll with eight-figures in dead money. Why cherry pick Cousins' contract? In any case, that's a pointless argument. Why are you grinding on the dead money amount for a player you aren't going to cut? Cherry pick Cousins' contract? Wow. It was a piggyback off of what Kwesi said about him. You know, the comments that went national. During a relative dry spell. Why are you aghast about that? Now if Kwesi was talking about Hunter or Cook and I posted Cousins' contract out of the blue, you may have something. But Kwesi didn't, I didn't, and you don't Oh, it's money against the cap going to him... part of the bottomline sum KC and the Vikings signed for. $81 million remaining for two years until he is a UFA. You choose to not include it, I do.
