Business associate (who's a Packer fan) got him and I tickets to the season opener! Will be my first game in US Bank, other than high school playoffs.

Quarterback, Kevin Hogan worked out for the Vikings on Thursday, evidence the team wants a bit more depth. That should strike folks as odd because the Vikings released Nate Stanley in July. Therefore, the Hogan tryout — especially if the Vikings sign him — should be an indicator that the coaching staff isn’t thrilled with Kellen Mond and Sean Mannion...vikingsterritory, paraphrased

out of stanford - been around the league since 2016 - played with Cleveland and Tennessee...started one game - lost....

career
60-101...59%
tds - 4
int - 7

from the same, also paraphrased....

Minnesota probably views Suh as a late-summer addition, typically more affordable than March or April. Conversely, Suh is about his money and still feels his earning power is paramount.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has $8.7 million in cap space. Suh likely wants most of it. Adofo-Mensah isn’t keen on the whole piggy bank dwindling to zero.

We shall see if they meet in the middle. Otherwise, Suh will probably sign with the Cleveland Browns or Las Vegas Raiders.

I know nothing about Hogan but at the very least, yes please ... have a veteran competition with Mannion for back-up. Of any kind.

Except maybe Sloter who makes Cousins look like an Einstein-Hawking love child.

And no, Cousins' great track record [with injuries] guarantees nothing.

The backup QBs suck, the Vikings should get someone off FA.

I can hear it now, 'if KC goes down, the season is gone anyway. What difference is Hogan or Mannion going to make?'

For one, you are at least trying to show fans a little good faith by addressing an important need instead of just defaulting to the past flavors of a very inadequate regime. Even if its just for show.

Two, Keenum. Yeah the chances are a bazillion to one but ...

Maybe Cousins just misses 4 games, and a good backup wins 3 of 4, or even 2 of 4.

The current backups probably get you 0 of 4.

Hard to find an up to date list.

AJ McCarron, Blake Bortles

Either would be ok, probably something better out there. Any ideas ?

The time to get a competent backup QB was one to three years ago. If Cousins goes down we are EFF UWE SEE KAY 'D. Thanks again Spielman/Zimmer.

I remember one of our best years in recent memories...1998 Brad and Randall, 1999 Randall, Jeff, and Fiedler.

I know Cam is a circus but in the Red Zone and 4th and 1 deadly.

Hogan is better than Mannion as is the other two listed. McCarron, Bortles.

Did I miss the memo?

Sounds like were throwing the towel in on Mond after a week or two of TC?

Over half this board threw in the towel, when he was drafted, then when Zimmer( hah) said he was bad.. that sealed the deal.

I was hoping he would get some playing time in more than 1 preseason game, last year.

Getting up to speed with NFL caliber players and defensive fronts, requires real time exposure..

But god forbid, there be anyone on the roster that might “threaten” Mr my stats are Money.

In a couple years, we will bring is some has been like Cam Newton, or Matt zRyan to “lead” this “potent offense” while we piss around with lower tier draft choices at QBOTF, who will be developed about as well as Twins Pitchers.

Some of the local media like Paul Charchian are saying the guy looks terrible in practice and has since day one. They're saying he couldn't even be put in a trade package for a guy like Minshew because the word is out that he's terrible. I have no reason not to trust the opinions yet also I don't know enough to say otherwise either.

If you are a contending team you have an experienced backup....no one is throwing in the towel.

We will all find out on Sunday. Mannion blows. Mond is wait and see. I have read that he doesn't process fast enough. Idc how far and well he throws it, he has to be able to process the information in front of him quickly. I am rooting for him.

Center, Cousins can not deal with pressure up the middle. Its the worst pressure for an offense to overcome. After tonights scrimmage, I think Bradbury starts getting rotated out. This must be addressed.

Bradbury is supposedly a great run blocker, but we're no longer a run-first offense - we need a pass-blocking center....

matt paradis...16th...66.2 pff....still a free agent...sign him to a 3yr/10mm deal - back loaded....

jc tritter...6th...78.7 pff

sign sheldon and shore up the d-line....

bradbury...29th...60.2 pff
