Harbaugh has got his teams to NFL Championship games with Kaepernick and Alex Smith.
Harbaugh was a QB. He has an offensive mind, proven success in the NFL and most reports I read tell me his players had good relationships with him. Ownership can worry about the contract, but this guy looks to me to be an excellent choice. Sign him.

Plus, his brother got a SB ring at his expense. Jim is ultra competitive. He wants a ring like his brother got.

Spot on.

Per the Boone interview, he said that he expects Cincy to win the Super Bowl, stating that they have better team chemistry, that the Rams are a group of all stars.

I wonder if Boone thinks the Ravens had better team chemistry when they beat the 49ers in the SB ?

As a Michigan man (the game at the Big House when we beat OSU this last season was one the best sporting event experiences I have ever attended), I hope he stays at UM. I am not a fan of choosing signing day to explore this, however.

If he sees this as a chance to enhance his career and income, why shouldn't he be able to? It is unreasonable to assume most people wouldn't - especially in this industry. Who one here would turn down millions more per year? Only in it for himself? No shit! It is his career and job!

I think he could be a good HC. My preference would be for one of the younger guys out there - preferable an OC-type, but I think Harbs could work here.

Michigan stuck it to him when he had a bad season forcing a renegotiated much lower salary. He owes them nothing.

I'm fine with O'Connell or Morris

O'Connell would be my choice. Just need someone who thinks offense. Never gave a thought to Harbaugh so can't comment on him one way or the other.

Source confirms that the #Vikings are expecting Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell to be their next coach although nothing can be official until after the Super Bowl on Feb. 13.

The #Vikings are zeroing in on #Rams OC Kevin O’Connell as their head coach, sources tell me and @RapSheet
. The deal can’t be finalized until after the Super Bowl.

Vikings interviewed O’Connell in LA on Monday and came away impressed with his vision for the franchise. He was emerging as the front runner before the Harbaugh interest emerged last Saturday and now is in line to land the job, which won’t be official til after the Super Bowl.

Sounds like Harbaugh didn't get what he wanted from the Vikings ...

The Vikings had never made Jim Harbaugh an offer to be the head coach, a source said. They talked all day, but Harbaugh decided he is going back to Michigan.

Vikings screwed up Royally if they didn't make Harbaugh a good offer.

Don't think Harbaugh fits with the new dynamic at winter park. I'm in for a younger coach with new ideas. I get O'Connell might be fools gold but fits the mold of what they are trying to build.

Knee jerk reaction.

Harbaugh would have been pretty exciting based on his previous NFL experience and the circus that comes with him ...

but there's no guarantee with him or O'Connel or anybody else.

Who knows what happened ... we may or may not get the full story ...

I'd like to hear the GM and ownership stuck to their vision of a new direction instead of caving in to a high profile candidate's demands.

Expected new #Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell was San Francisco special projects assistant in 2016 when Kwesi Adofo-Mensah was in the 49ers front office. O'Connell was Washington's quarterbacks coach in 2017 in Kirk Cousins' final season with the team.

Graham isn't employed by the Giants right now. Is he?

Give him a $250K raise from what he earned last year and give him the DC job.

O'Connell, a former quarterback, was Washington quarterbacks coach in 2017, Kirk Cousins' final season as the starter there, and would figure to run a similar system in Minnesota to the one the Vikings first installed with Kevin Stefanski and Gary Kubiak in 2019. O'Connell also worked with new Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in San Francisco in 2016, when he was on the 49ers staff doing special projects under Chip Kelly.

- Not completely new for Cousins, then .... if he wants to keep him ;)

I’d rather let our next HC pick his own coordinators.

I’m not really excited about a guy who was a coordinator for two years and didn’t call plays on game day. But, I like him more than some of the folks we’ve talked to.

I'm down with O'Connell....

I feel like we dodged a bullet with Harbaugh...

just felt like he was not someone this organization can grow with and feel like he is OUR guy

I like the idea of the up and comer, just hope he can be that young stud that wins the SB by year 2 and has 15 straight winning seasons a la Tomlin...

Yeah. But if KAM thinks so highly of him, at least set up a meeting with KOC and Graham.

All reports were that Harbaugh wanted to come here and Harbaugh was Kwesi's guy. Already undermining the new GM his first week on the job.
