Graham isn't employed by the Giants right now. Is he?

Give him a $250K raise from what he earned last year and give him the DC job.

I’d rather let our next HC pick his own coordinators.

Yeah. But if KAM thinks so highly of him, at least set up a meeting with KOC and Graham.

Maybe KOC told us who he would hire as DC during his interview?

I’m also not sure how much access we have to KOC until after the SB.

I'm hoping it is just a paperwork thing. We shouldn't have to wait 1.5 weeks to start filling out our staff.

Vikings screwed up Royally if they didn't make Harbaugh a good offer.

Knee jerk reaction.

Harbaugh would have been pretty exciting based on his previous NFL experience and the circus that comes with him ...

but there's no guarantee with him or O'Connel or anybody else.

Who knows what happened ... we may or may not get the full story ...

I'd like to hear the GM and ownership stuck to their vision of a new direction instead of caving in to a high profile candidate's demands.

All reports were that Harbaugh wanted to come here and Harbaugh was Kwesi's guy. Already undermining the new GM his first week on the job.

All the hearsay and rumor mongering from sports media people that was tweeted ... not all the factual reports from the participants ...

You have no clue. Nobody does.

Most likely, the decision was made by consensus ... if you've been paying attention to what the owners / GM have been saying about the process.

The only one undermining the GM is you with your cockeyed interpretation.

O'Connell, a former quarterback, was Washington quarterbacks coach in 2017, Kirk Cousins' final season as the starter there, and would figure to run a similar system in Minnesota to the one the Vikings first installed with Kevin Stefanski and Gary Kubiak in 2019. O'Connell also worked with new Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah in San Francisco in 2016, when he was on the 49ers staff doing special projects under Chip Kelly.

- Not completely new for Cousins, then .... if he wants to keep him ;)

It will be interesting to see if O'Connel's previous experience with Cousins makes him want to keep him or dump him.

I was thinking this too...
I wonder if his vision for KFC is to keep him

Whether anybody likes it or not, I think this almost clinches a Cousins extension.

One reason I liked Harbaugh was because it sounded like he would bring Fangio with him to handle the defense. But I'm hopeful that O'Connell would do the same thing so he can focus on fixing Cousins.

+1. There is nothing to indicate that KAM was all in on Harbaugh. The media played up the prior relationship between them while ignoring that KAM and O'Connell had also previously worked together.

I read that Daboll wants him to stay as DC in NY, and I think he's still under contract.

“The Wilf family (ownership group) and organization are first class all the way and in every way and Kwesi is a shining star!” Harbaugh wrote in a text message Wednesday night to the Pioneer Press. “The team is poised for greatness.”

Why do you have to be insulting Tom. I'm going by the best information I got. Funny thing about consensus. It used to be called the triangle of authority and everybody thought it was a bad thing. Now we've circled back to it.

The triangle of authority as espoused by Brad Childress had dashed all to do with genuine consensus building.

You're right ... I should have more patience ... but your opinions often rankle me – I'm sure it works both ways.

For instance, your current positions are even more chafing than usual ... one, that not hiring Harbaugh was some kind of first-strike corporate betrayal of the new GM and, two, that 'consensus' is a bad word because of something that happened during the Childress era.

I apologize for my bad manners.

I have no idea what Greg Beacham knows but I like what he says here:

"O'Connell is the most important part of the offensive brain trust that develops the Rams' game plans, designs their plays and then implements all the details necessary to make it work on Sundays."

"To learn more about that role and what makes O'Connell an exciting candidate, DenverBroncos.com spoke with the Associated Press' Greg Beacham."

Just shared with us, “one big pro for new Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell is that he’s too young to have kids old enough to hire for his staff”

love to be a fly on the wall when his name is discussed by top NFL brass. My guess is the Philly owner isn't exactly doing him any favors.

Interesting they had O'Connell tagged so quickly. Almost like that is who they wanted but they took the Harbaugh interview just incase it was a last second homerun.
