I started having reservations about Krazy when Mannion was brought back.

I think KOC is going to be a great HC, not sure about the GM.

Way too much hand wringing going on. The Vikings are going to get at least 7 of the top 100 players and many draft experts have gushed about the solid first 100 guys in this draft. The #66 pick is just two picks out of the second round, this was not a bad trade, just not flashy and obviously the way you guys wanted it to go.

Dana I respect you, but gaining 12 spots in the second and a 3rd round pick isn't appropriate compensation for moving back 20 spots in the first. Jordan Davis seems like a sure fire all pro. Giving him up for that is not worth it.

I don’t mind the trade back to get a third and a better 2nd. I’ll get pissy if we trade back 4ths and 5ths for 6ths and 7ths

David we gave up 20 spots in the first round to move up 12 in the second. A third round pick isn't in the realm of proper compensation for that.

Trade chart says it is a slight edge to us. In no shape or reality is it a Hershel walker trade. They are the Lions.

Like I said. yea Princeton.

Meanwhile Detroit had a great day. Got a heck of a player at 2. And good value from us.

You know what comes out perfect.

DET gets 12

We get 32 and 34 and swap 3rd rounders.

Do think that’s what it was SUPPOSED to be?

That might make sense. I don't even like giving up our third in that deal.

I would be fine with Ojabo. Top 10 player before he was hurt. Will prob play before Williams. Faster recovery from Achilles.

Oh no ... I just felt cold icy fingers grab my spine ...

What if our whole draft strategy designed to get peewee Linderbomb?

Instead of Jameson, Davis, Hamilton, etc etc

I would have been thrilled with any of those three. We were handed them on a silver platter.

Yeah. We have no 4th rounders.

By my math we have 4 picks in the top 100.

Thank God there is still someone around here who knows football. If this new guy drafts four starters he is a genius. If he drafts flops he is not. But if you think you know the results of this trade at this moment you give yourself way too much credit.

Sorry Bill, that would be six guys with our 4 third rounders. That is a lot of ammo to move up later if we see someone who slipped out of the first. I just don't see this as the end of the world, sure, I really liked Hamilton, but I am sure we will get solid players if we stick and pick from here on out.

Maybe Dana thinks we will trade back again? 94-100 picks all in a row.

The top 100 runs out in the 3rd, what with comp picks. 7 is way off. Right now it's 4 in the top 100.

Maybe he was combining the 2022 and 2023 drafts

Another chart, #12 = 1200 with the return at 1430.

Edit - we gave up 440 more which would be 1640 if we gave up the 2nd.

Something doesn't sound right.

Can't say I'm a fan of the trade, but... weirdly, although it's a loss on Rich Hill's Chart, it's a win on PFF's and F-S.

Ignore Jimmy Johnson's, which everyone knows is nuts.

Maybe in their mock drafts, the Vikes liked the selection of players that showed up in the 30's. Like some players in positions of need often fell. So they felt they could squeeze out more value.

This is the part people don’t account for. All the draft trade tools are just that. Tools. They are not the final word. They provide a baseline that you then need to apply to your draft board and come with some sort of integrated decision.
