If you like press conferences this is good stuff with KOC introducing BF to the media (and fan base).

we need to extend tomlinson before the league year ends, so we can work his dead cap ghost years into the deal...i think we could actually sign him and lower our present cap hit....

Rather sign Daron Payne if we can scrape enough money together

if we do nothing; when the league year ends we have a $7.5mm cap hit with tomlinson and he won't be playing for the vikings...if we extend him, we could lower that cap hit, and keep him, both...it's like shaving $3mm off our present cap and getting tomlinson as a gift...are we kicking cap hits down the road? - yes, we are....

I just spent 15 minutes reading about how void years work. I still know nothing. The articles start out by saying it's simple and then by paragraph four I could just as well be reading the article in a different language.

Yet another example of ESPN digging around in social media to find a 'story'. I don't care about the Jesus piece of the article but found it interesting that choir boy Adrian Peterson was initially offended after fathering children to, what's the count, seven women with some suing for child support.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin said Wednesday that he never intended to offend anyone by attending the Super Bowl wearing a jacket that critics deemed to feature an offensive depiction of Jesus. "After talking with my parents I understand how my coat could have offended some people," Hamlin wrote in a note posted on his Twitter account. "It was never my intentions to hurt or disrespect anyone, the coat is abstract art to me." Hamlin closed his two-post thread by saying he will continue to learn from the situation and adding: "My beliefs and Relationship with God is not tied to symbolic images."

The second-year player continues recovering after having to be resuscitated on the field after going into cardiac arrest during a game in Cincinnati six weeks ago. He created a stir on Super Bowl Sunday for wearing a Takashi Murakami "Travis Jesus" stadium jacket during pregame ceremonies and while sitting in NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's box during the game in Glendale, Arizona. The back of the jacket featured an abstract illustration of Jesus on the cross under the word "ETERNAL." The front featured an abstract depiction of Jesus' face and appears to reference a Bible verse that reads: "Without end or beginning there is no day and no night."

Among the critics were former NFL running back Adrian Peterson, who referred to the jacket as "blasphemy" Monday. A day later, Peterson wrote in an Instagram post that he has since cleared the air with Hamlin. "After speaking with Damar, I have an understanding that it didn't come from a place of ill intent," Peterson wrote. "I apologize for offending you, I just felt offended in that moment as a man who loves and respects our Lord and Savior."

All your doing there is is kicking the can down the road. Besides we're use to paying guys after their gone. Barr/ Rudy

Tomlinson is not even close to the level of player Payne is.

I believe you…spotrac says Payne is worth $20mm/yr…tomlinson $8.5mm/yr….

Do we want to spend that kind of money when we don’t have a winner at qb, and we’re cash strapped?….

Just wishful thinking on my part.

I know we probably will have a hard time affording Tomlinson. PFF really likes him but he by know means is an impactful player according to the eye test.

#Vikings edge rusher Za’Darius Smith appears to be preparing to sell his house in Eagan; the property is listed as “coming soon” on the real estate market.

Preparing to sell a house, of course, doesn’t mean that a player is gone; there’d certainly seem to be a fit for Smith in the Vikings’ defense with Brian Flores. But they have a decision to make on him in the next month, with $5.05M of his base salary becoming guaranteed on 3/19.

Not really a bad idea if he's uncertain about his future here.

It's just being prepared.

Coming soon is not yet on the market and if he resigns he just doesn't put it on the market...but if he's leaveing it will speed up the sales process.

It doesn't mean anything really.

I'm sure he'd love to keep him.

It's about financials now.

He's owed 17M this year and 22M in 2024. But he's only a total of 5M dead cap over the next 2 years if we cut him.

So unless he restructures, he's probably gone.

z'smith should be a pass-rush specialist...come in on passing plays only...he could still command good money, and save himself wear-and-tear....

no team is going to trust him as a full-time full-season force - I bet he stays, playing limited downs...give him 20-25 plays a game, almost all of those as a pass rusher....

many of the great edge players did this for the final 3-6 years of their career....lance johnstone, justin houston - in the last four seasons houston played in under 65% of the def snaps each yr - last season, he played in only 44% of the def snaps and had 9.5 sacks - 17 QB hits....

z'smith can stay in Minnesota and finish his career in our country club, better-than-all facilities and play another 4-5 years....

kwesi should talk him into it....

The talk up here in New England, is the Pats are open to dealing Mac Jone, QB. Apparently they believe the talent gap between Jones and Zappe is minimal. Belichk is said to be displeased with his performance this year and his bad attitude. Think this would be worth exploring for us? He did lead a team into the playoffs

Of course I find it puzzling, what exactly does Bill B. define as a bad attitude. What must that look like to him.

I'd have a bad attitude as well if Matt Patricia was my play caller. Not sure what Bellicek was thinking.
