Viking team ranking win rate

Pass rush 30th
Run stop 18th

Pass block 6th
Run block 7th

Run block 7th? Pass the pipe ESPN, PFF, or whoever.

Cook and Mattison are a great combo, but wow they are having to struggle for yards.

Agreed. 6th in pass block seems a bit out there as well.

While I agree that seems too high I don't think they're terrible either. Kirk makes them look worse by holding the ball too long at times and looking panic stricken at other times. The run blocking has seemed worse imo.

Your keen eyes can see him panic stricken. I'm incredibly impressed.

Well, you haven't revealed your brilliant observations. But why should you be anyone? You were the guy who asked if solar panels go on roofs!

The NFL began tracking 3rd Down Conversion % in 1991.

The Vikings current 31.3% 3rd Down conversion rate on offense is the 2nd-worst in team history since then. Only the 2006 Vikings were worse with 3rd Downs (30.0%) through 4 games to start a season.

but on 1st down, in '11 personnel', we're one of the best passing offenses this season....

Good point. Cousins has been filling his diaper more than usual this season.

Right! Prob don't have many 3rd downs ... ha ha

Kicking all those fg after 3rd fails last game can't help with that number. I think being optimistic it'll improve seems reasonable.

KG, f 'em! Don't give that bs another thought ...

One thing to like so far is we're hearing stories of comradary and not love boats, stairwells, or switches.

I believe under KOC we're going to become a gelled team that can fight together and win.

Power Ranking 9.

GB 4

So a team we smashed and 4 teams with worse records (2-2) ahead of us. Makes no sense.

They have a quarterback with a proven history of showing up when it matters. We don't.

That make any sense?

If The Vikes and their star QB went 13-3 three years in row and with no SB trophies to show for it I doubt anyone would be talking about getting it done when it matters most.

**** Rodgers.

We can revisit this conversation when Cousins gets the Vikings to 13-3....three years in a row.

13-3 three years in a row doesn't mean shit without a ring. It actually points to NOT getting it done when it matters most: the playoffs. I want trophies, not stats.

I never gave it a thought to have the possibility of giving it another thought. If what you're talking about came from Bill Johanesen I've got him on iggy. I saw a post disparaging talking about making some bets. I've been sharing about making some bets because IMO it's kind of fun and so far I've been winning a lot. I'm guessing that may have been directed at me. Am I right?

Every player who doesn't win the championship each year failed when it mattered most. That means a little over 3% succeed when it matters most.

Exactly. Anything short of a championship is a failure.

Regular season wins and stats don't get me too excited - especially when that 13-3 is piled up in a weak division.

Us Vikings fans wring our hands and gnash our teeth after one "failed" run at a SB about every decade (1998, 2009, etc.). Imagine three years in a row of being a choking dog - often at home - with an "MVP" QB!

I'd take 9-7 and SB win over 13-3 for several years in a row with nothing to show for it.

Stupid argument. Who cares where the Viking rank.
Just have to beat the teams in front of you and focus on the things that actually matter.

Rankings are not wins, just fuzzy teddy bears for people that need something to feel good about.
They can rank us 1 or even 33 if they want. Just focus on beating the next team

Wait a minute. Are you trying to say that getting home field advantage, yearly, and then getting beaten down is NOT a good thing? I'm stunned

Do they still have the Pepsi Offensive player of the week?

That was a thing for some here when we had Percy Harvin.
