ORIGINAL: Todd M Stacking wins matters most. Play your best ball in January. No, being a great team matters most. A team that can win on the road, in prime time, against top-tier teams playing their outstanding QBs. As it stands, your playing best ball in January motto sounds like hoping all the opponents resort to their 2nd stringers (who can also light us up). I'm not demanding this team be great, nor demanding the team perform to the standard of a normal 7-1 team. What they have accomplished is commendable... the rest is gravy. In a sense, if they can over-achieve the rest of the way that would be perfect. But... nevermind. Very spot on. I always feel like I'm diminishing what they've done by talking only about getting better than their record reflects. In truth, I'm very very grateful that they blew my expectations out of the water (like four games ago). But ... how they improve / perform the next nine games is so much more important to the bigger picture of the 2022 season as a whole ... It's a weird season. The schedule, opponents, backup QBs, our good health. In a way such talk is more justified as this weirdness continues against the odds, but at the same time the team is taking care of business. Peeling back the onion, the closeness of the games is worrisome. Even the prophet Cousins said it's strange that the team isn't playing well but is winning.
