Most people would agree that Rod Carew was one of the greatest pure hitters of all time. For me, it was either Carew or Tony Gwynn. Lets compare the numbers to Arraez. Lifetime Batting Average: Gwynn, .338 Carew, .328 Arraez, .321 Lifetime OB%: Carew, .393 Gwynn, .388 Arraez, .381 Lifetime Slugging %: Gwynn, .459 Carew, .429 Arraez, .418 Lifetime Fielding % at 2nd Base: Arraez, .987 Carew, .973 Gwynn played OF, which is very different Lifetime Overall Fielding %: Arraez, .988 Carew, .985 Gwynn played OF, which is very different Rod Carew was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1991. Tony Gwynn was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007. Arraez's numbers are not that far off from either one of those guys, and he's just starting to hit the prime of his career.
