That probably delays his return next spring too depending on the severity of what they need to fix.

Too bad. But best to deal with surgery now than wait until spring training like the great Joe Mauer.

So. 9th inning. Rocco jumps the gun. Pinch hits for Julien with CHRISTIAN VASQUEZ to get the righty on lefty matchup. TB then changes pitchers to a right hander and Vasquez strikes out in three pitchers.

Personally take your analytics and shove them up your ass Rocco.

I would have Julien hit against a left hander and right hander an octopus a snake a centipede...over vasquez.

You should be fired for that substiitution alone.

Not that I think we really have much chance in the postseason, but Rocco will be the most likely cause of our demise. Out coached out thought and too dependent on math.

WOOHOO! Byron Buxton got a cortisone shot and everyone is optimistic about him being back before the playoffs. They DHd to keep him in the lineup more and he has played 85 games.

I couldn't care less about Gordon. He has been made obsolete by Castro. I don't even see Gordon on the playoff roster.

Analytics say Vazquez currently hits lhp better than Julien. The problem is that Julien has a whopping 42 AB against lhp. And those are sporadic AB. Rocco created a self fulfilling prophecy. He decided Julien can't hit lhp and minimizes his AB against then, so that can't get any better against lhp.
