so until you know the future it’s hard to know whether to take the reins or not

WTF does that even mean? Sounds like a drug-induced reason to not be decisive. Maybe he watched Minority Report the night prior.

The indecisive Kirk Cousins.

This article IMHO hits the nail on the proverbial head.

And there it is...

“I could do anything I want,” Cousins said. “I can do the quarterback sneak. I can do whatever I want, but at the same time you also have to deal with the consequences. Against Buffalo last year I snuck it on my own and didn’t get in, so until you know the future it’s hard to know whether to take the reins or not, but I’ve done it before. I try not to make a habit of it, certainly.”

Sneak the damn thing every time - before you hand hand off to a rb headed into the interior line on short yardage

Tom Brady, 82% on sneaks in NE. Of course his center and guards probably were an upgrade over Bradbury, Schlottman, Ingram. But still, who here doesn't feel everytime we hand the ball off on short yardage to a rb it fails. Obviously those failures stick out in your brain more but still it feels like all the time

He doesn't "make a habit" of "taking the reins"? What? If not the QB, then who does he think is supposed to "take the reins"? Trade him today. That's an unbelievable statement from an NFL quarterback.

Now I understand why he plays like he does. Definitely not a leader by his own admission not mine.

The Vikings are in a 4 way tie for first place, and control their destiny, towards getting the 1st pick in the draft.

With Cincinnati winning, the remaining 0-3 teams are Minnesota, Carolina, Denver and Chicago. The Vikings can lose to all of them, and get the 1st pick in the draft.

Reid didn't win until he got Mahomes but he made it there plenty.

Before Mahomes he got there just once.

And that team had still good McNabb and Terrell Owens.

What I heard when i read this is "I am afraid of the consequences if I do things on my own and they fail."

This explains the Kirko Chainz thing. His teammates were trying to bolster his self confidence so that he'd be less reliant on having to be spoon-fed all of his decisions. It's a shame because when he's forced into situations where he has no choice but to make his own decisions he has historically been brilliant. His self-doubt is what keeps him in the "good" category when he could be great.

Kirk Cousins has been pressured on 32.4% of his dropbacks so far this year, 13th in the NFL.

That's his lowest pressure rate as a Viking, his lowest personal rate since 2016.

It's the lowest rate for a Vikings QB since 2012.

Despite being 25th in % of drop backs under 2.5s

Fire Kwesi asap

Hire a GM that can evaluate football talent first and foremost. I don't want Kwesi drafting another player, let alone a high pick spent on a QB.

Then trade Kirk, trade Hunter for 2024 draft assets.

Draft your QB next year.

Hire an OC you trust enough to turn over the offense, scheme and play calling to him or fire O'Connell. The play calling and offense as whole are not creative.

Fix both offensive and defensive lines.

Piece of cake.

this is from the new york times; they have us ranked 25th....

The only concern about Kirk Cousins in Minnesota is how long he’ll be there. He’s on pace for 6,091 yards and 51 touchdowns this year. Despite Patrick Mahomes existing and Tua Tagovailoa throwing to a collection of aliens, Cousins leads the league in passing yards (1,075) and passing touchdowns (nine). On Sunday, he became the fifth player ever with at least 325 passing yards and two touchdowns in each of his team’s first three games. The Jets, Falcons, and maybe the Saints have to be interested in that.

For those who will be sad that KFC is gone in 2024, here is something you can hold onto: https://overthecap.com/player/kirk-cousins/1443

He will be with us in spirit with his 11% share of the cap.

Trade him to the Falcons. His wife's family is there. They got married in the area. His family is in Florida. The Falcons might actually have a shot at the division and have plenty of weapons Kirk can check the ball down to, and the Falcons are looking for a long term QB. He might wave his no trade to go there. Ship him out. Load up with picks. I'd rather watch Jaren Hall the rest of the year, and see what we have in him. Sounds better than continuing to have the same conversations about Kirk year after year. Rip off the bandaid. I'm over it.

Love it. Fans love QB stats, and Kirk is on a roll. Trade him quick before their fan base has a mutiny after looking past the numbers.

He’s played golf multiple times at the golf course my brother is a member of in Atlanta

He’s supposedly going to join when he retires

So the tie to Atlanta is very much grounded in reality

Omg. Also look at the interior d line analysis

Viking d lineman just littered in the bottom quandrant
Wonnum, Jones, Lowry in a tier of their own. Even Phillips in bottom of the league

Confirms what I said Sunday. Vikings have worst dline by a mile

They are so devoid of talent best case 2 year fix
