Last time Chicago had two high draft picks, they picked #3 and #4 in 1965 and picked 2 HOFers in Dick Butkus and Gayle Sayers.

and they are probably dumb enough to draft a LB and RB high again.

Well, if they get careers from their picks like Butkus and Sayers had, then I wouldn't care what position they played if I was the Bear's GM! Picking HOF players is the gold standard. But, they'll take Caleb if he's available when they pick. I live in the Chicago area and my take is that they will move on from Fields.

Our Defense looked actually very good....the offense not so much. Instead of letting Kwesi cook; lets let Flores cook. 4 games in I love watching the defense over the offense....I would watch another game when our defense was on the field last year after about game 11.

It's absolutely more entertaining, but not sure it's actually good

It might be good against rookies and bad QBs

At least it's a start

Backup QBs had career days against Dimatell

I don't think you need to be from Chicago to know that

Not sure how anyone could mention love of the D, except in sadistic terms, when:

- TB came back to win led by Baker Mayfield laughing on the sidelines then saying he knew the defensive adjustments.
- Philly destroyed the defense with 259 rushing yards. That's the first time I felt pity for the players on a defense.
- The Chargers put up 455 yards passing, with Herbert going 40-47 (85%). Eighty. Five. Percent.

They got the best of a weak Carolina offense and team with a QB who has two career starts. But who knows, maybe they've turned a small corner. More love nonetheless with Mahomes coming to town!

If he uses the same scheme next week, we'll give up 50.

And the choice is?

Getting routed is definitely a solid probability.

If we can keep Davenport healthy, and not have tipped pass/ fumbleitis as we’ve have all year perhaps we can stay in the game.

Pretty fine line in this one.

Don’t think they can gouge us like the Eagles did on the ground, however I feel just slightly more comfortable with a guy like Pace Jr and his speed as a spy for Mahommes.. Problem is Mahommes is just so good it may be irrelevant.

Cousins has been pretty damn slow in his release this year (See the 99 yard pick six) and that’s very concerning considering our IOL.

Like Akers acquisition, and hopefully Risner as well.

Tough spot for us…

I always assumed that Flores was going to really try to be on top of his game on and off the field this year, projecting leadership, stability, innovation...because, yes he is auditioning to be a head coach again. The defense was so horrid last year, that if he can get them back to middle of pack even, and do it without controversy and drama, he will be viewed very favorably, and be on many short lists for HC openings in the next year or two.

I guess both KOC and KAM will fight tooth and nail for every win this year, knowing that their current gig may be their only opportunity at the highest level in the profession. As such, unless they're willing to pay a king's ransom, it seems very unlikely the Vikes will be in the running for one of the top few picks in next year's draft.

KOC is at the mercy of a chickenshit sloth reading DMV reject at QB.

KAM is hamstrung for this and next season by a cap situation that was dumped on him by the idiots Spielman and Zimmer.

If we don’t get a top five this next draft, and take a legitimate shot at Top QB talent, and get some meat for the DL.

We will have a top 5 pick in 2025.

And possibly beyond.

This team and franchise has ridden the “almost good enough, pony” for its entire history.

It’s glue factory, dog food and build for the modern NFL game, time.

I fully expect it to suck, therefore, either it won’t, ( my kind of karma), or It will and my expectations will be in line with my Bipolar 2…

….. yes, Hyvee pharmacy… I need these two meds refilled immediately… thanks…

Not sure how anyone could mention love of the D, except in sadistic terms, when:

The key for me was seeing how the defense was with Davenport---that one more guy on the line if they double Hunter....there was even a Wonnum and Jones sighting.

Like I said we are moving upwards on defense; end of last year we were bottom 2...

Beating CAR does not count as a ‘moving upwards’ trend.

I appreciate that the defense is at least trying to be ‘in your face’ instead of 2022s ‘in your zip code’ … it’s something.

Personality does not equate to quality. We are still 3-4 games away from our defense presenting a trend.

Exactly. "Moving upwards" suggests a trend. There is no such thing as a one game trend. Just to note, we are worse after week 4 this year compared to last year in points allowed and its associated NFL rank.

And last year we were bottom 2? Maybe in yards, but not in points.

Was wondering how Mahomes does after a bad game. No definable trend. Sometimes he bounces back the next game, in other instances there is a rut of four or so games where he has a low (relative, for him) QBR. Could be due to himself, injuries, opponent strength, etc. But in either case, in the past few years when he bounces back he does so big-time.

He is a better version of Herbert.

Hard to imagine how we are going to contain him.

Flores has his work cut out for him... that is for sure.

Maybe Taylor Swift won't attend the game, the Vikes get favorable officiating and pull an upset.
