I heard on the Purple Daily podcast that they may try Cine as a gunner tonight. Solid use of the first round pick that traded back to take. Well done KAM

Cine is in a tough place. Being a healthy scratch is concerning. but we have Bynum who is good, Smith the veteran future HOFer type guy who can still bring it, and Matellus who's been a revelation in this defense. He can't get on the field because three guys are outplaying him Having him contribute on special teams is a GOOD idea.

Question is why did he draft a S?

We had much bigger needs.

Assuming the Vikings lose tonight, I must say Green Bay is due for a win, especially at home

I don't know. Love looks talented, but either is inexperience his showing, or he isn't very smart.

When McConnell was with the Rams, did they usually win or lose to the 49ers ?

Just wondering if he's used to being on the winning side, or on the losing side when playing against the 49ers.

Just think of the pressure he's going to be under to pick the right QB next draft. He'll be in the 3rd year of a 4-year contract.

As long as he at least takes a stab at it - that's all I ask. People say he's not capable of picking the right QB. I have no idea if he's qualified or not. I know this much, even someone who's never watched a game could get lucky and randomly make the right choices. Theoretically a person could meld all the consensus mocks into one list and just pick from it. You'd get some awesome picks and some duds - much like we see from every team, every year.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!

And the frequency of a dud is greater for 1st round QBs than for other positions in the 1st round. Probably around a 1 in 3 chance, I'd guess, of hitting on a quality QB in the 1st round. Plenty of Blake Bortles types out there.

But your chances of getting a dud increase exponentially the deeper you go into the draft.

1st round is where you really have to take the gamble.

He can pretend he's working with ETFs and just use the NFL Mock Draft Database.

Spielman feasted on those "Sleeper to Watch" and "Best of the Rest" types in those draft magazines.

In Vegas right now, thinking the Vikings will probably either score a TD on their first possession, or turn the ball over.

You must be a treat for the bookie at the window as you mull over it's-possible-except-for options, coulda-woulda-shoulda scenarios, last names starting with the same letter, referee sways, and team performances based on how much you cheered for them previously.

Go ask the Vikings fans sitting around the Sports Book about 'McConnell'. Be sure to ask all of them.

The bet I always thought was a "lock" was the touchback on opening kick. But they have so many anymore that you don't get very good odds on it.

edit: for the year, SF is at 62%, Vikings at 75% -- Maybe it's lower than I thought. Washington is at 100% for the year, Detroit at 32 with 53%

I see it like the Ponder year, no chance they won't take a QB in round 1.

I usually work all that out in my own mind. Sometimes it can spur a nice conversation in the sports book with a complete stranger, and sometimes they (or I) share an interesting related story.

Thanks Ricky.

I am thinking the game is too hard to call. I want to have some action on the game, and am looking for some bets on individual players.

Gotta see who's all playing, and who's not.

The #Vikings “heavily pursued” Brock Purdy leading up to the draft last year, per
@SeifertESPN
.

Minnesota was one of three teams that Purdy was considering as an undrafted free agent, before the #49ers selected him with the last pick.

Now, Purdy will face the Vikings for the first time in his career tonight.

Wonder how many teams would of put him on their practice squad if he was an Udfa?

I don’t really care bc I think he’s a game manager in the perfect situation but don’t tell me they heavily pursued a guy sitting on their hands waiting for him to fall to free agency.

Come on. You really think ANY team would pass on Vederian Lowe, Jalen Nailor or Nick Muse - even if they had the hots for Purdy?
