Not a bad call in retrospect, maybe, but who here was upset they let go of Cook and kept Mattison?

There might be a few that thought both ought to go but I don't remember it

I don't think that is the correct link.

I wasn't. I thought Mattison would do far better. That he had a little Beast mode in him...but what he seems to have more of is

We had to let Cook go regardless of resigning Mattison or signing somebody else. (Not drafting a RB high was the only other absolute)

(Cook by the way, who is upset about not getting used very much in NY ... is supposedly seeking a trade)

I liked keeping Mattison and adding Oliver because it put an emphasis - in theory - on adding physicality to the offense but I also though Mattison would do better.

Even though the OL didn't look good in the first couple of games ... it became apparent that Mattison is not a go-to guy. Even now that the OL has somehow transformed magically into something better ... Mattison is still only a complimentary dude.

I like Akers so far but hopefully we don't go back to a one trick pony running game with any one player ... the rotation of Akers, Mattison and Chandler is working and should cover for injury.

Not sure we need Nwangwu at this point even on ST.

Please lets give McBride and Chandler some touches instead of Mattison. Two problems with Mattison besides just not being a good RB. First, he is a horrible receiver. Cook was an excellent receiver. Second, He is only
an average pass blocker. Cook was a good pass blocker despite his decreased RB ability.

Ricky, my point was that Super Bowl teams sometimes get very physical and knock out opponents QBs, the Vikings giving Purdy a concussion. Green Bay knocked out 3 QBs on their way to winning their only Super Bowl with Rodgers.

Maybe the Vikings are a Super Bowl team.

As long as they aren't dirty hits ....

Ok. Got it.
I don't see that as a dirty hit. It was like, "Here's my head, go ahead and hit."

Yes! If we can accidentally blow out a few QBs knees along the way, maybe inadvertently rupture a tendon here and there ...

we won't have to worry about stupid stuff like playing better than the other team.

He just wanted to get in another priceless Rogers post.

Helmet to helmet rules are great for trying to stop full on WR vs Safety contact. But a plausible 3rd and 1 QB sneak... helmets are banging all over the place.

We discount Barr, but that sack on Rogers where the chosen got hurt... priceless. Sorta like Clay Matthews humping Bridgewater's lower spinal column but with better results.

Chandler has neither the power nor the wiggle to get through defenders. But he is great in a straight line, like we saw vs SF. But screens to a RB way on the outside?

Chandler can take it to the house if he gets the hole. As a defense you need to respect speed. Also, McBride has a hell of a lot more power than Mattison or Akers (even though I am ok with Akers).

Once again Bill is wrong: Jordan Love IS a talented QB.

He can make all the throws, moves in the pocket well, even has some intangibles. Not sure if it's inexperience, but he has made some stupid throws in crunch time.

To all those that think the Vikings will just dominate in Lambeau this week, go to Iowa or Wisconsin and bet your life savings, you only have to give up 1 1/2 points.

Good luck with that.

No, I just think thoughts of a blowout are foolish. I would love it, just can't see it happening.

It could happen, but would you bet on it ?

MN -118

I put $720 on Dal over AZ, so of course anything can happen. But as I alluded to earlier, if we don't beat GB ... nvm

I’d expect a let down game if it was Zimmer, Frazier, or Childress.

I’ve been critical of KOC but I don’t think he has the team losing momentum.

Ha ha, I forgot this is MartyWorld.

In the real world:

Jordan Love 2023:
32nd in Comp %
28th in INT %
24th in YPA
28th in QB Passer rating
29th in On target %
28th in Bad throw %
While being 10th least pressured QB in the NFL

Love is currently 32nd in completion percentage and 24th in yards per attempt. He is 28th or 29th in interception percentage, QB passer rating, on target percentage and bad throw percentage. This all comes despite being the 10th least pressured quarterback in the NFL. When he is pressured and blitzed, however, the results have been disastrous.

Talent!

Stats make Kirk a top 3 QB in some people's eyes, not for my eyes.

I see Love as having potential, can make the throws, but he, along with his defense has played poorly in the 4th quarter, and missing Aaron Jones also doesn't help.

I am not taking any bets, it seems too close to call for me. I am only saying talk of a blowout is probably nonsense.

If I were still in Vegas, I would probably be once again looking at prop bets. Although I doubt the Vikings turn the ball over on their first possession, it would be worth taking a $50 shot on it, assuming the odds are once again close to 15/1.

I would also bet on a couple of WRs to score a TD. I would pick one on each team. Either Hock or KJ for the Vikes, would probably go with Hock. It would be tempting to pick Addison, as Addison has hit every time, but I think the Pack will put Alexander on him, and they will probably get away with a non call of PI on him more than once.

For the Pack I would go with Doubs scoring a TD.
