21st century is spot on.

In 7.5 games, Cousins rushed for 25 yards and 0 TDs.

In 0.75 games, Dobbs rushed for 66 yards, and 1 TD.

Not advocating a rushing QB, but having a QB who can buy time and sometimes gash the D is like having a 12th player on offense.

In Sept who would have thought we'd see "Dobbs to Powell" connect for a go-ahead score.

Powell seems like a good fit!

Love his energy level. He's a slower Tyreke Hill.

Great win. I got to watch the last minute after my local game finished. That 4th & 7 Dobbs run was amazing.

Absolutely nuts that Dobbs was able to play that well on 2-3 days of practice.

ONE penalty for four yards.

That's it.

Also we seemed to always get the snap off quicker and we didn't waste a single TO because we weren't prepared.

Was it a simplified gameplan? Is there just a lot less "stray voltage" without Kirk in the game? Maybe some of each?

Don't know the rules of concussion protocol, but can't see where Hall will practice this week. Which would make Dobbs the starter, for next week at least.

Dobbs first 3 series: Safety, Fumble, and then puts KJ in position for the dirty hit.

For a smart guy, he sure must have a short memory because he was pretty special after all that.

I would say welcome to 2020 decade.

Only 2 mobile QBs(Wilson, Mahomes) have won a SB in the 21st Century.

Have to wonder how many snaps he even took considering they were prepping Hall as the starter.

He made some passes to Powell and 'Trishton Jackson'. Were they the second team WRs he developed a rapport with? Like over 20 minutes!?!

Wow!

So out of market game..

Didn’t feel like going to a sports bar..

Reading the GD thread after game was over..

I was and am out driving for Uber eats..

Followed a bit of the first half till Hall was out..
Then the safety..

Figured.. meh.. worst thing that can happen is a loss..

Imagine my surprise..

Reading the game day thread.. you would have thought KOC was the worst coach we ever had..

Looks like our defense played a fairly good game..

Low and behold,

A mobile QB has his distinct advantages…

Move on..

Go Vikes!

Unbelievable. Josh Dobbs said that Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell was essentially translating calls and mapping out plays mid-huddle, as the play clock was ticking down. KOC called Dobbs’ ability to handle it all one of the most impressive things he’d seen in his career.

It’s not the addition of Dobbs that puts us in the current century. It’s the subtraction of cousins. Dobbs/Hall are just temporary placeholders. Now we’ll take a shot at a qb in the draft. Going back to cousins now is career suicidal for any decision maker in the organization. Oh, and by the way, we’re going to win a bunch more games with these placeholders too.

I wouldn't give ANY qb $30-50+ mil unless that QB had won me a Super Bowl. Did you win a Super Bowl on your rookie deal? Yes? Great! Here's your hugenormous contract. F it let's just run victory laps and love life. No? Good luck. Next!

Kevin Seifert with some reporting:

Josh Dobbs didn't take a single rep with the offense in practice. No snaps from Garrett Bradbury. Had never thrown passes to anyone, and didn't know most of their full names. "That's for next week," he said.

When it was time for Josh Dobbs to come into the game, the Vikings' offense huddled on the sideline and went through the team's 5 primary cadences, said RT Brian O'Neill. That was the first time he had gone through it with the rest of the offense.

One of the most impressive things about the Vikings' win today is that they had one penalty for four yards in a game that had 140 plays from scrimmage.

The last time the Vikings had fewer than five penalty yards in a game was December 3rd, 1972.

Some things just weren’t working but we kept doing it.

Maddison on first for nothing or a loss
Rushing 3 and going zone on 3rd and long

Coaching wasn’t perfect but, considering everything against them, it was a pretty impressive win.

what this means; o'connell was not planning to put dobbs into the game, no matter how badly hall was playing....

it took an injury to get him in....
