Wow!

So out of market game..

Didn’t feel like going to a sports bar..

Reading the GD thread after game was over..

I was and am out driving for Uber eats..

Followed a bit of the first half till Hall was out..
Then the safety..

Figured.. meh.. worst thing that can happen is a loss..

Imagine my surprise..

Reading the game day thread.. you would have thought KOC was the worst coach we ever had..

Looks like our defense played a fairly good game..

Low and behold,

A mobile QB has his distinct advantages…

Move on..

Go Vikes!

Season high in points!

Was that against one of the better defenses to date? Besides maybe the Eagles?

I liked the way Dobbs kept the defense off balance not knowing if he would run or throw.

Dobbs is running on adrenaline and quick study like Hock did last year. He will come back down to reality when teams have film and slow down his running, but it could be a fun ride in the meantime.

Some things just weren’t working but we kept doing it.

Maddison on first for nothing or a loss
Rushing 3 and going zone on 3rd and long

Coaching wasn’t perfect but, considering everything against them, it was a pretty impressive win.

I was very surprised that o'connell did not call more designed roll-out option plays....

What do you do if he gets hurt? You have no other QB on the roster and even the emergency guy was ruled out.

And with Kirk as our QB, how many designed roll-outs do we even have in the playbook?

I suppose we have to bring up Mannion for one week.

If we get everybody healthy, it should be Hall or Dobbs with Mullens as #3

Unbelievable. Josh Dobbs said that Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell was essentially translating calls and mapping out plays mid-huddle, as the play clock was ticking down. KOC called Dobbs’ ability to handle it all one of the most impressive things he’d seen in his career.

Just wanted to re-up this comment. Literally learning the offense during a game.

When is it they turn off the communications? I thought it was 10 or 15 to go but important to get the play in faster.

It sounds like Akers tore his Achilles tendon again. I hope Chandler is ready to get some playing time.

They also have Kene back and McBride on the PS. More depth than QB or WR.

KOC is an amazing coach. Both Hall and Dobbs moved the ball.

See if that continues next week. Sad thing about the Vikes is that we haven’t found a run game. Akers was struggling too. Maybe Chandler or Kene can add something.

Leading rusher was Dobbs.

Maybe we were a little hard on him for running the ball so much on 1st down. I mean, the guy never even practiced the cadence until a minute before he took the field for the first time.

I'm not sure we will ever have a good running game with KOC. Hopefully we can get just enough to keep things honest.

Kwesi should take a look at other teams practice squad for a RB.

Mattison is painful to watch.

I've been advocating for Tye Chandler to get a sniff of playing time since last year before he was injured.

KOC may finally HAVE to give him a chance.

I'm not impressed with Kene at RB.

The guy Arizona chose to roll with instead of Dobbs went 11/20, 58 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs and a lost fumble today as the Cards got shut out.

The locker room after the win. This is pretty great. I can see why the players love KOC.

Dobbs is the first player in NFL history to score three or more combined passing and rushing touchdowns in consecutive weeks, with two different teams.

Dobbs Postgame:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BdtKtfP6Lw&ab_channel=MinnesotaVikings

That guy is the real deal.

His play and demeanor, Is my kind of QB..

Doesn’t need to verbally move his lips to learn how to make a play call..

Can improvise..

Is Mobil

Is obviously well educated and able to process at game speed, make reads and quick decisions..

Not a DMV Sloth..

I didn’t see a lot, if any of Hall's play, just the play at the goal that got him knocked out…

But I can’t even begin to explain how refreshing it is to see, the highlights I saw..

The two minute drive on YouTube..

Despite the annoying 10 minutes of unskippable advertising..

Outstanding 2 minute offense and use of clock and timeouts..

Dobbs played lights out in those two minutes..

How he got out of that 4th and seven, make or break play, was simply amazing.

There is no doubt in my mind that given the personnel and crowd and injury situation, that if K F C., had tried that drive we would be coming home with a road loss..

No doubt about it.

The reads and throws and runs Dobbs made, impressed tbe hell out of me.

And after reading how little time he had, working with the starters, just going in Ice cold, not even knowing the offensive snap count cadence, ( which is a seemingly minor, but not.. deal), and playing essentially 3/4 to 7/8 of the game, from his own ability and relying on the other players to help him get it right and make plays…

Just WOW.

I hope Hall can come back and get a start or two, but I’m not missing he who shall not be named.. at all..

Future so bright, I gotta wear shades..

KOC’s 1st down play calling is uninspiring but I’ve been to hard on him. He was able to pull this season out of the fire and get us looking respectable. The way he bridged the play calling and the raw QB was nothing short of brilliant.

Kudos coach. You’re doing a great job.

Not to mention the other side of the ball. We left them short field after short field early in the game and all they got out of it was 3 FGs (and a safety). Best coaching staff we have had in many years.

FYI those that complain about Kwesi....all the injuries we have had; it seems the GM and Coach put together a team with depth. Could hardly tell Darrisaw was out---kudos to Quesenberry also....

Judging by the multiple ovations in the locker room, the players love Dobbs.

Thought maybe instead of live reps he went to his hotel and practiced using Madden, but he probably doesn't know what city he left his game console at.

...We gotta drive all night
And do the show in Chicago
Or Detroit, I don't know
We do so many shows in a row
And these towns all look the same
We just pass the time in the hotel rooms...
