I think just getting to the Playoffs is enough to keep Dobbs on a reasonable deal while still looking to the draft for the future.

If we win one Playoff game, then Dobbs has basically hit Cousins’ ceiling and I don’t see how you could even consider bringing Kirk back considering his age, injury, history and price.

If we win two Playoff games (where Dobbs leads us to the wins), I think we have to consider he might be the guy.

Justin Jefferson. Not tough. Not needed. Might as well shut him down for the season and trade him.

Right on time... as reliable as a Swiss watch... and train.

You said you manned up in high school with a hammy so with that laughable comparo as your baseline shouldn't the training staff and docs be fired as well? Or is this just all on not-tough Jefferson?

I might be out in left field, but there might be a slight degree of caution bringing back one of the best WRs in the NFL. Maybe it's different to high school ball in Canada, who knows.

I thought I heard recently that it was on Jefferson to make the decision at this point. So this leads me to believe that he's been medically cleared. Could have been misinformation. I'm trying to remember where I heard it from.

Prior to this injury, Jefferson played 55 out of 57 regular season games. He hadn't missed a game since his rookie and hadn't missed a playoff game. Over that span, Jefferson has made some great catches through some pretty nasty hits. JJ is plenty tough. To say otherwise is ridiculous.

I would say it most definitely wouldn't be about his toughness and would be about making sure he gets to his next contract.

"The hamstring is a difficult injury just because it lingers and it comes back from time to time if you don't put the right treatment into it," Jefferson said in his first public comments since suffering the injury Oct. 8.

"The guys and the rest of the coaching staff in this building know my worth on the field and they want me at 100 percent, as I do as well. I don't want to go out there at 80 or 90 percent and have the chance of hurting it again. It's just day-to-day, and when that time comes, I'll definitely be ready to step out there."

Sounds reasonable. Perhaps being medically cleared to play is different than making decisions to help assure an injury is fully healed to prevent reoccurrence. The team culture still has that old school mentality to a degree: get a shot at halftime and get your ass back out there.

If it was some backup or low level starter, they'd mandate he get back out there. JJ can say uh, not so fast.

With other types of injuries, all fans have seen cases of players not opting for surgery during the offseason then re-aggravating the injury close to opening day... to the point where the player then requires surgery. Fans are like, you selfish idiot, why didn't you get the surgery immediately!

Yup, if you want me to re-sign here, I say when I'm ready to play.

I’m stuck with the Puke/Chargers. I have to ask. How the heck did we lose to the Chargers??? They are a terrible team.

Bosa and Mike Williams are both out. Different team.

Herbert just put a game winner on QJ and he flat out dropped it. Makes you appreciate Addison even more.

Kwesi deserves credit for getting Dobbs, but some luck may have been involved, as I linked an article earlier that claimed the Vikings tried to get Brissett before getting Dobbs.

From the Mercy Health Site documenting hamstring strains:

Mild to moderate (grade 1 or 2) tears or strains can heal within three to eight weeks with diligent home therapy. For a grade 3 hamstring tear or strain, recovery may be as long as three months.

Returning to sports before the injury is fully healed can cause more severe injuries.

While it was a long time ago, when I had a hamstring strain while running track, it took me 8 weeks to get back to being able to sprint. Also, from me, it was not an issue of "toughing it out". I just did not have the ability to sprint. Jefferson should stay out until after the bye and make sure the injury is fully healed.

Same here. Toughing out a severe ankle sprain, no problem - a hammy, nope!

I remember Randy’s hammy being the end for him. He played with a bad hammy and if you don’t let it heal it can take your career at 33

It is a 4-6 week injury.

This is the 6th week. Kupp was out all preseason and first four with a hammy.

Considering today is actually a full six weeks it appears it's not a 4-6 week injury.

I don’t really think it matters..

I’m fine with JJ coming back when HE feels ready.. it’s his career and his body, so it’s totally his decision.

Other receivers have stepped up, filled the void and gained invaluable experience in KOC’s offensive scheme.

If JJ comes back fully healthy, come playoff or while fighting for a spot to get in the playoffs.. so much the better.

I want to see our offense with Addison, Jefferson, Hockenson, and Osborn..

Dreams of three deep and a Cinderella story to finally get the SUPERBOWL win we deserve.

SKOL Vikes!

Crush Denver, on the road, in prime time and serve notice..
