Be glad to get Hock back next game when he’s 99.98% ready va today where he’s only 99.97% ready.

Nobody wants to see a player held back due to an over abundance of caution. If our chemistry is janky today you’ll know why.

GZus you guys are tight.

A 2026 6th for a7th and a player is like getting an ice cream cone today for sticky change 2 years from now. It’s gonna be ok.

last year's trade with the rams for akers was for a 2026 pick, too...in 2026 we'll have two separate deals kick in for the same player, but different trades and with different teams....

I thought I heard that last year's trade didn't meet the conditions and that the trade was then a wash.

Not possible.

If Hock can't play today then there's no way he should play Thursday.

I wouldn't mind seeing a guy like Oliver or Ham target Det's knee buster safety early. I'll take a personal foul penalty providing it sends a message.

Let's put a bounty on his whimpy ass.

If Hock can't play today then there's no way he should play Thursday.

He can play today though. They’re choosing to sit a healthy player and it’s probably just bc of the schedule. There’s no reason to hold him out Thursday bc he’ll then have 10 days.

My point is if he can't go today after all this time why would Thursday be any different?

Maybe they don't want him to play 2 games in 5 days yet?

Maybe they are holding him out against the Lions because they know the Lions will be going after his knee if he does play.

Why not just let him come back after a scheduled loss which is usually what the away Thursday game is? Hopefully we can go to LA and win regardless but that's usually what those seem to be.

Maybe they should hold out Jefferson too then? If we're worried about them going after our players knees?

I didn’t realize Jefferson is coming off a major injury.

It's pretty simple. Either you're ready to go or you're not. If he's ready he should play. This isn't kindergarten. If he's not ready but somehow he plays Thursday you know he's ready today. What are we going to do? Sit him out against the last Lions game in fear?

It’s not about being ready. It’s about recovery.

Do you want a guy coming off an ACL to play his first two games 5 days apart? If he plays Thursday he has 10 days to recover after his first game.

That makes no sense.

5 days of recovery after your first game is very different than 10 days.

“After playing your first game following ACL surgery, expect some soreness, swelling, and potential fatigue in your knee.”

Well let's just throw our hands in the air and not play him this season then. He might have some soreness. In that case wouldn't it make more sense to play him today and NOT Thursday? This is a division game and more important. Then he'd get more than 10 days rest.

It's understandable but he isn't obligated to go the whole game against the Rams. That, on paper, is an easier fixture. If he's truly ready, play him today and rest him on Thursday. Gives him enough time to go in 2 weeks. I'm fine with either plan but it's arguable.

edit: oops. beat me to it

It's good to know that our attitude is we're scared of the big bad Lions. Let's hope the team doesn't harbor that same attitude.
