JJ’s knee prognosis for next year - as structurally sound as any 22 old should expect to be. Better bc of world class care and facilities. The young man’s mindset I’m expecting all in plus a scratch and sniff sticker.

Knee shmee.

It was nice of McCarthy to allow himself to get hurt, so Sam could shine, and get a nice contract next year.

I wouldn't trade McCarthy, he probably won't end up being the best QB in the '24 class, but my gut tells me he will end up winning the most Super Bowls out of that class.

I think Brad is under-rating McCarthy, and Brad will eventually be surprised of how good of a pro McCarthy ends up being.

TBH---It wasn't a guarantee JJM was going to start the first game. How good of a pro he will be doesn't matter as he is 21. JJM has less value than Sam right now.

Good list Phil. I also feel Addison is pro bowl level. The guy makes some tough catches and has a nose for the end zone. If we keep getting good looks to Nailor this offense will be unleashed for the playoffs.

Good for Murphy on a personal level but that sucks for us. His value just went up. I think they would bring him back with a reasonable contract but I don't think he's good enough to give him what he's probably going to ask for now.

Addison is showing he has Pro Bowl level talent but there are so many good WRs out there. Right now he's in the mix for best #2 WR.

Seems like he benefits from the attention Jefferson draws but at the same time doesn't get as many targets because of Jefferson. Right now, he's a great compliment.

There could be more Vikings headed to Orlando, Fla. as seven others were selected as alternates: fullback C.J. Ham, center Garrett Bradbury, safety Josh Metellus, tight end T.J. Hockenson, tackle Brian O'Neill, defensive tackle Harrison Phillips and special teams ace Trent Sherfield.

According to many here (myself included) I thought Bradbury sucked.

TBH---It wasn't a guarantee JJM was going to start the first game. ....

I am not making that argument, though it was a possibility. McCarthy getting hurt allowed Sam to not have anyone looking over his shoulder, most QBs prefer not having a backup that is pushing them for a starting job.

I am not making any arguments for McCarthy over Sam, I am only stating the effect his injury had on the QB situation. It allowed Sam to flourish.

I am obviously very happy with Sam, and hope it continues. One playoff win against a decent team, and I will be all for giving Sam 40+ million.

Great problem to have....2 QBs next year between Daniel Jones, Sam, and JJM.

That means there isn't that many good centers in the NFC.

The OLine did play very well last week though....I give him credit for keeping Sam mostly clean.

Patrick Mahomes and Garrett Badbury, both vying for a shot as a Pro Bowl alternate or 2nd team or whatever they got going on.

All-Pro 1st or 2nd team or GTFO

Ravens well represented. But way more importantly, they lead the NFL in ypc, ypa, dypc. Dypa is, I forget, middle of the pack or above. That seems quite impressive.

I put absolutely no stock in PFF when it comes to grading O-line performance.

I put absolutely no stock in posts, that do not know how to format links..

And PFF is so bogus, no one “ quoteS” them, unless it “ proves” something, + or -, about a player or team..

It is the false flag of Football statistics and player ratings..

Jordan Love better than Sam Darnold?

I rest my case… keenum..

Sam's mobility and toughness in the pocket makes the IOL look better.....In the end spending a ton of money or resources at IOL has shown to be more of a want than a need for a team at 14-2. Next year may be different depending on the QB.

It was more important with a QB with less mobility. which is so 2023.

Teams have given the bag to QB’s in the hope they’ll be the answer. We got a discounted preview. Sam works. Is showing he can be the guy. He has a final exam to pass though..

Final exam to pass? He's 14-2. What exams has McCarthy passed to deserve the job, beating the Washington Huskies?

I hope you are right, but I still think the Vikings are dumb if they turn over the keys of the Mercedes to a kid that hasn't completed a pass in the NFL. That would be a silly, unnecessary risk.

QB Sacks in 2024:

1) Caleb Williams (67) 87.4 passer rating
2) CJ Stroud (52) 86.0 passer rating
3) Geno Smith (48) 90.5 passer rating
4) Sam Darnold (46) 106.4 passer rating

As I see it, there is only one quarterback that has played better despite a woeful offensive line and that's Joe Burrow (44 sacks, 109.8 PR). IMO, both should be up for MVP conversation. Jaden Daniels and Baker Mayfield are close.

Sam has final exams in terms of whether or not the Vikings pay him $40-$50 mil a year. The Lions and the playoffs are a huge test. If he shits the bed, then he has reproduced Cousins 2022 season.
