I have to buy in. It’s one of the few things keeping me going. That and The Boys back this summer.

Not much else.

Week 9 (3 November) - vs Indianapolis Colts, U.S. Bank Stadium, 12:00 PM CT, CBS
Week 10 (10 November) - at Jacksonville Jaguars, Everbank Stadium, 12:00 PM CT, FOX
Week 11 (17 November) - at Tennessee Titans, Nissan Stadium, 12:00 PM CT, CBS
Week 12 (24 November) - at Chicago Bears, Soldier Field, 12:00 PM CT, FOX
Week 13 (1 December) - vs Arizona Cardinals, U.S. Bank Stadium, 12:00 PM CT, FOX
Week 14 (8 December) - vs Atlanta Falcons, U.S. Bank Stadium, 12:00 PM CT, FOX
Week 15 (16 December, MNF) - vs Chicago Bears. U.S. Bank Stadium, 7:00 PM CT, ESPN/ABC
Week 16 (22 December) - at Seattle Seahawks, Lumen Field, 3:05 PM CT, FOX

This stretch alone should keep us in a good place. I can easily see a 10 win season if we get reasonably good play out of the QB position (whether it's Darnold for a year or split).

Looks favorable to me, yet ...

... the NFL.com rates it the 4th in "... toughest regular-season slates," T-16 on strength of schedule.

Schedule looks like cake.

We started slow last year, with Cousins no less. If we start that way this season ... which you would expect with either a new QB (no matter what you want to believe about Darnold) getting acclimated or a rookie getting his feet wet ... while playing the toughest part of our schedule ...

I don't see much of a difference from last year. Competing with the Bears for worst in the division.

I wouldn't be surprised by 7-10 at all although I expect the defense to get better over the course of the season and I expect the QB situation to work itself out, if not with great improvement at least with clarity for moving forward.

I'll reserve judgement until the final third of the season but I will say this, if we outplay my expectations and back into the playoffs ... I'll be a lot more hyped backing in with Darnold or McCarthy than Cousins. I would have to join the 'anything can happen' mob.

I think even backing in is far fetched (if you go by the strength of QB / IOL /IDL / CB) but I would happily concede brilliant coaching and GM-ing if we were actually legitimate contenders by the end of the year.

One thing is for sure. The league thinks we're going to stink with all the noon CST starts.

Flore's defense will keep the team competitive, but I don't see Darnold or rookie JJ winning many close games. This team likely goes 6-11.

I think Darnold is going to surprise a lot of people this year. He has never had a chance like this. He's been on 2 of the top 3 dumpster fire franchises. He has had no chance to succeed. Much like JJM, this is the perfect place for him to be.

In fact, it's going to be very interesting if he comes out and shows why he was the #1 overall pick and considered the 2nd best prospect (outside of Luck) coming out of college. Will be a very nice problem for KAM/KOC to have.

The #Vikings have signed former Packers and Bears TE Robert Tonyan, who caught 11 touchdown passes in 2020.

......

Its not a bad low key signing at all but so what ... our focus on this position is crazy

A C or G with some quality playing time on the other hand ...

Maybe because of Hockensen's injury.

Just seems like like we rain players at the position while we eke out the best we can with a few low level guys at IOL.

We absolutely need to pick up a quality starting LG. Hopefully one becomes available after cut downs.

Glad to see Tice is at the helm loading up on TEs... just need some H-Backs.

The schedule means nothing, but the Vikings should be cellar dwellers.

Send me the purity rate of your cocaine. Of course your predicted 10 win season is caged based on QB play. The singular most important position in team sports.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Darnold does well. He was the epitome of a young QB prospect who was set up to fail. Darnold got thrown right into the fire at age 21 with absolute garbage around him. He had just finished his age 23 season went he went from one crappy team to another. It would not surprise me if Darnold was able to reboot, spending a year learning in a good system that's from the same offensive tree as the Vikings.

Then again, he could just be a bust.

They probably don't expect TJ Hockensen back until after the bye, so they are adding someone with at least some experience. But in the end Oliver Mundt and Muse should be able to carry the load.

I don’t expect much from TJ this year. Shame that he was really starting to flash as a top tier TE.

If only I knew how to use a comma, I wouldn't have caused you such emotional pain.

My apologies.

Wonder what it is about him that we, and other teams obv, don’t like?

By all reports he's well ahead of schedule. That being said, yeah. He sat out early last year and it took him a bit to get back on track, new qb this year ect. Probably be fools gold to think he'll contribute early.

Lions are the real deal and Bears have improved on paper considerably. Couldn't beat the Packers last year.
Color me a bit concerned.
