Cine waived

ouch....

Sometimes the easy move is the right move.

Kyle Hamilton was right there...

The silver lining is Hamilton will soon command a huge $$ contract, and apparently Kwesi is adverse to giving such money to a safety. Now if he can only trade Bynum then claim Cine off waivers...

There is always a chance nobody claims him and we can put him on the practice squad.

People are too afraid to claim Cine, he claims them.

If KAM is as smart as he wants people to think he should just put his hands in his pockets and, start whistling and just turn and walk the other way. There's no way to put other than his first draft was an absolute disaster.

I do though, still wonder, was the input for "who to draft defensively" came from Donatell?

I think Kwesi said it was a unanimous decision He learned GM speak early.

The only one who whispers in Kwesi's ear on draft day is Kevin.

Literally. That's not a euphemism.

The Cine reference about he claiming teams... gold.

Yeah thanks for putting the fear of Cine in the conversation.

It helped pass the time.

I agree.

Hmmm, yet you failed to give Rat/Paul - or Tom for that matter - credit.

How Evans is still around is beyond comprehension.

Perhaps he is first out if/when they get a RB or another player.

For sure. Sacrificial body #1.

Based on your Inventory of Unknowns above ...

I would say Evans, Asamoah and maybe Redmond look like 'most likely to change out with other greener unknown' candidates (with Redmond a PS guy).

Based on relative strength and weakness of the roster ...

We are short a RB, Jones is not a durable guy. The TE room is very underwhelming for 4 weeks. Combine that with possible no Addison for a few weeks ...

The DL line is very underwhelming no matter how promising the youngsters look in camp/preseason.

Rumor is they're trying to trade Asamoah.

Who would take him? Pace stepped into his place and made him obsolete. He looked lost in the last preseason game.

I'd rather lose him than Taki. We need some beef along the d line. Those guys will be exhausted by week 10 if we don't cycle them in and out correctly.

I'm concerned about the depth at rb. We have a guy who's good, but has an injury history, and a guy who couldn't crack the starting lineup. McBride or Gaskin seemed to be able to fill in and eat up some yards.

Jay Ward needs to dedicate himself to the weight room before he can make a positive impact on the defense.

I think the Vikings are going to lose to the Giants in the opener, and could easily start out 0-6.

I think getting Bailey Zappe might be worth a shot, if you wanted to make the playoffs this season.

But it's probably better if the Vikings get a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.

Dude come on. I don’t even like Mullens but he’s way better than Zappe 😓

I suppose one way to look at it is ...

Yes Kwesi had an abysmal draft in 2022 but he has already moved on from picks one and two.

Before the start of his third season.

Ingram, Asamoah and Evans are all problematic but really, its the lingering first rd picks that do the most damage.

And we moved on rather quickly. Which I think beats making the horrible pick to begin with. Certainly a course correction we saw little of with Spielman.

Also, the one year contract in year two and the non-competitive offer this year for Cousins (not that we had the resources to make a competitive offer or we might have) ... even so, it felt like we were trying to trying to turn the table on Kirk and squeeze him into our team's financial structure and personnel plans. As much as Kevin opined for the dude, we pushed ourselves away from the table based on KC's age and guaranteed money demands. Certainly better than Spielman ever did.

In year three, we also swooped in on McCarthy, Turner, resigning Darrisaw ... which gives us three of the four competitive cornerstones (CB being the missing one) that we need to be truly competitive. That all remains to be seen.

So I will give Kwesi some solid credit for learning some things on the job.

Still a long long way to go. I still feel like we are a 5-7 win team.

But it feels like we are stuffing the piñata for a solid whack in 2025.

i have more faith than most in this season...I think we've got the players on offense to score a lot of points - stating the obvious, it's up to Darnold and O'Connell...get Darnold in a rhythm early - stay away from long-developing plays until it's set up properly....

I’m with you. I think the talk that KOC is going to have to be COY to see us half competitive is way out there. I’m not declaring us to be the top team in the NFC but we’re going to be good.
