I was at a AAA game last year when the challenge system was in place. Each team had 3 challenges, but if successful the challenge is retained. Only pitcher, catcher or batter could challenge (I think). So really, unlimited challenges, as long as you're right.

I like it. The key was the immediate result of the challenge. No long delays with umps wearing headsets and standing around. A challenge is announced, the pitch animation is displayed on the scoreboard screen, everyone in the stadium sees the result, and play goes on. It didn't seem like a disruption at all.

How would you blow all your challenges if there is no challenge system?

Did you see what strikes the Dodgers pitchers were given against Wallner---that goes away (thank god).

I'd probably be okay with that. But maybe phase it in. Use challenges for a year as a compromise and make sure it's all working okay. Then use it 100% after that.

I really think that can be handled internally. You lay down the law as to what circumstances a challenge should be made. If one idiot burns up all the challenges, you bench him the next day. His teammates wouldn't look too kindly on him either.

Take away Correa and Kirilloff and the team is batting .160. If I were a pitcher I would be asking to be traded, immediately.
