I'll be happy with who ever they draft but I do have three favorites going into tomorrow, assuming we don't trade out of the first, one of whom should be available at 24:

Zable, Harmon and Nolan.

All 3 would excellent choices. I thought, leading up to this week, that it was a lock we'd trade back. The more I read it becomes less likely. Not because they don't want to but their likely won't be a dance partner. Most draftnicks are saying there's about 10 great prospects and 11-60 is about the same.

Have we figured out our backup plan at quarterback yet?

Also, can anyone tell me who our #3 receiver is?

3rd WR is actually our #1 TE. Weird but the Vikings 3rd WR were hardly used as they are more blockers or they went 2 TE (TJ/Oliver)
Also Nailor wasn't used much after Addison returned from Ankle Injury.

QB will be Sam Howell or another backup. Another rumor is we may draft OSU starting QB in the 4th or 5th to be our backup.

So, we don't have a backup plan.

They have a plan. Just because they don't articulate their plan to Brad H of southern California, doesn't mean they don't have one. I am sure they have a plan with multiple contingencies. I believe thoroughly that the QB situation will be solidified by the middle of next week. After the draft and the end of compensatory picks calculation. I'm not worried. they are well aware of how bad things can be if you don't have a good QB.

He is still pissy they didn't pay Sam; same as it was first week of FA.....lol

14 wins last season. That's a lot of wins with one of the worst offensive lines in football.

Yep

Let's be honest, A couple of those games we won in spite of Sam Darnold. And the last two games, Game 17 and wild card he was awful. Another Cousins if you ask me. Great in regular season, wilts like old lettuce in the playoffs.

You can't win a playoff game without getting to a playoff game. You keep putting the cart before the horse. The Vikings were one half away from being the top seed in the NFC. Once we finally got against better competition, they knew exactly how to expose our woeful offensive line. Dude was sacked nine times against the Rams and yet you guys seem to think he was going to produce miraculous numbers. You people aren't living in the real world.

I am torn on what the Vikes should do in the draft tomorrow. If there is a player who is the highest on their draft board, pick him. But we need more draft picks so trade with the Chiefs and pick up a possible 3rd and 4th round picks would be OK too. I don't want the Vikes to trade out of the 1st round unless they get a top 3 2nd round pick

If 1 of the top 2 running backs are there at 24 should the Vikes take him?

I wouldn't. While I have never been of the mind that running backs are a dime a dozen, I also am not a fan of taking them in the first round. You can run the ball effectively without an all-pro running back. If one of the 2 is available, is the clear bpa and there is interest, I would consider trading out of the pick.

Depends on how the picks fall before us... but a lot of pundits are predicting the Vikings will trade with either the Giants or Browns and get one of the top picks in the second round, plus two more.

I am admittedly not all that knowledgeable about the players coming out of college so I am not going to get too excited or disappointed by whom we pick. But I am excited for the process.

Yeap. Rumors swirling are that the Giants don't like Sanders and want to get back in the back end of the first to take Dart.

How many sacks the Rams have against the Eagles? 7
How many sacks against the Rams were the result of Sam holding the ball? Conservatively 3.

Personally, I think we get more out of a top tier LG than a top RB...

but i have heard some good arguments about getting an elite RB in rd to get the 5th year and then let him go at that point

the anticipated fall off doesn't warrant a second contract, but that extra year maximizes the draft value

I don't mind that approach

I hope it isn't Sam Howell...

would much rather see Tannehill than probably any of the others...

I do think they planned to wait for the draft before they make that move though, for comp pick purposes as many have suggested

I finally watched Draft Day. A kind of stupid movie, but as a draft geek I enjoyed it.

2025 NFL draft: Favorite team fits for 20 top prospects

S Nick Emmanwori to the Vikings
Height: 6-3 | Weight: 220
College: South Carolina

Where Minnesota could get him: Pick No. 24

Emmanwori has great size, 4.38 speed and rare physical tools, so he'd be able to play a disruptive role in Brian Flores' defense, which is built on creating chaos. Emmanwori has the split-field range to play top-down in Cover 2, plus he can spin down to play an enforcer role in the underneath zones. And with the ability to match tight ends in coverage or create pressure out of Flores' multiple blitz packages, Emmanwori would be in a position to make splash plays as a rookie. He had four picks last season, and he returned two for TDs.

This team never learns..

This is gonna be the worst draft since Erasmus and underwood and Williamson. With ponder as the cherry on top of the pileochit.

So we are going to judge the draft before it even happens now?

My man crush is Tyler Booker.

Mean, nasty 321 pound bull dozer.

Booker next to Darrisaw would be a frightening combination for opposing defenses.
