IF JJ turns into a top QB, say top 7 QB next year, what does that make Kwesi's draft grade ?

Still poor.

If JJM becomes a star, Turner a perennial pro bowler, Donovan Jackson becomes Steve Hutchinson, Addison gets his head straight and becomes the top 20 WR he can be, I'll upgrade his drafts to a D-.

Seattle didn't win SB by only drafting studs in the first round......2nd-fifth rounds were the key plus UDFA and trades. Kwesi would get a C in Trades and B in UDFA and an F in Drafting and F in cap Management.

If McCarthy wins a Super Bowl with the Vikings, I will then give Kwesi an 'A', provided none of the QBs drafted after him that year have won a Super Bowl at that point.

Even if JJM wins the SB in say 4 years and there are none of Kwesi's draft picks aside from Reichard on the team you'd still give him an A?

How? His only mark on the team will be at best 5-10 players?

Yes, because he got the most important thing right, drafted a QB capable of winning the Super Bowl. And then just as much, or more credit should be given to all the rest of the people involved in building the right pieces around him.

The Jets drafted a QB capable of winning the Super Bowl, they just didn't put the right pieces around him. Let's hope the Vikings do both.

Was listening to NFL radio today and Pat Kirwan ( who I think is one of the best football minds out there) said this. "If a team is looking to draft a franchise QB this year there aren't any. In fact this years draft is so bad most of the kids drafted will never make it on a NFL roster."

Mendoza isn’t as talented as JJ or Nix even with his intangibles.

There will be a hot market for the 27-28 year old qbs. Kyler Murray Mac Jones Daniel Jones, etc.

what do you all make of Carr coming back?

many are predicting he comes here, but does he want a 3 yr deal for $100? (as Pat Kirwin suggested yesterday)

Would he really take a one year deal? (the opposing point being that he could win now with us)

Seem a lot like Kirk 2.0

We could do worse than just signing Kirk to a 1 yr deal (I think he is at a prove it deal stage in his career)

cant believe I'm feeling like Kirk could work...the list of available qb's is not very exciting

I still think Kirk will be hunting for a starting gig somewhere. There are a number of teams looking and few options out there. I don't think the Vikings will do more than offer him a chance to compete.

If Carr gets anything close to that, it will have to have a ton of non-guaranteed money. No one even knows if he can make all the throws - or how his arm will hold up.

quote:

“Last offseason, Carr made the decision to retire due to a shoulder injury that significantly limited his ability to throw the football,” Loffrendo wrote. “At the time, the injury appeared to be a long-term concern. However, recent reports suggest Carr’s shoulder has healed to the point where he can perform the functional movements required to throw, sparking renewed interest from teams around the league.

Sign him. Carr can work on functional movement and JJM can work on fundamentals.

I'd say Carr would be another key piece for our qb hot tub room but Kwesi's not here anymore ...

I wonder if we'll change from shopping for half-eaten good-value zombies to, as they say, new specimen gathering on Alpha 199.

The only place he'll get a guaranteed starting gig will be the Jets...

I think he will assume he can beat out JJ and take the job here if we are offering something more reasonable than the 1 yr/10 mil Darnold deal

Kirko will be hunting for the biggest pay check. That has always been his MO

Carr and Kirko are damaged goods.

My guess is we make a play for Murray even tho I question if he is a fit for O'Connell's offense.

And a lot of you in here wanted to get rid of him. No more needs to be said.

Carr definitely not. I kinda think KC, for all his limitations, is no worse than what else is out there but he’s already robbed us blind for so many years … I just want to move on.

I’m not a big Murray fan, but again, compared to what else is out there …

I doubt whoever it is, will come in with very high expectations anyway.

Will be a good test for KOC to see if his reputation has some merit.

Whoever is out there for QB, they should all want to play in Minnesota, it's probably the best possible scenario you could get in, especially if BFlo stays.

If you don't mind playing behind a horrible o-line.

2026/2027 Cap Hits. Underlined = Overpaid. Bold = Cut depending on dead cap hit or trade.

The reality is this team is the NFCN cellar dweller. After the cuts next month to get out of the cap deficit it will be even more apparent. The best bet is to exchange a ton of deadwood for cap relief and/or picks..

JJ 39/43

Allen 24/23

O'Neill 23

Darrisaw 23/25

Greenard 22/22

Hargrave 21

Hockenson 21/23

Murphy 20/22

Van Ginkel 19

Fries 17/22
